Liberty and equality are incompatible.
liberty and equality ONLY work together. I would say you could only get liberty through equality.

No, I did, it was in response to your query about what type of guvamint I was advocating.

Libertarianism is unrealistic. It would never be put into practice.

And wouldn't create freedom- perfectly free markets undermines individual freedom for many people by creating social inequality, poverty, and lack of accountability for the most powerful.

Freedom is not created. People have it. Others violate it.

Libertarians recognise your right to live free from coercion...as long as you recognise the right of your fellow man to live free from coercion.

You do realise that in a free society you can get together with all your like minded fellows, set price controls, tax each other to bits, whip down the successful and all your other wet dreams. The difference being you couldn't force that system on others.

As I pointed out, economic coercion would be commonplace in a libertarian "state" (of that's the right word).

People don't naturally have freedom- think about it. We need laws to set freedoms. Without everyone abiding by set laws they are worthless, and the same goes for freedom.

I thought your fear was that it could be forced on you.

Is it coincidence that Communism leads so many hungry people?

Quoting the heavy weight intellectuals now, are we?

In fact, using Reagan as a source of material when debating anything is rather dim. He was, after all, the idiot of the 80's.
Let's examine some of his other remarks, shall we?

Facts are stupid things.
- R. Reagan -

Or, perhaps, in hindsight, let's not...

Who are you to talk? You're not even fit to polish the brass in President Reagan's library.

I've never seen Reagans library, but if it's anything like I expect from any President, it's gonna have a lotta brass. Most if it with his initials in it somewhere.
