@eintaluj said2 or 3 mm per year is cause for alarm?
@Metal-Brain
"I also deny sea level rise is alarming. 2 or 3 mm per year SL rise on average is nothing to be alarmed about."
I think, in turn, that the glaciers are melting and the sea level is rising. It might be highly dangerous because there are so many people on the planet and many of them are living at the sea, in such areas that will remain under the water. I pre ...[text shortened]... lly do something to help itself. This is true even if the cause of global warming is human activity.
Pull out a ruler and take note of how little 2 or 3 mm is.
@shavixmir said" sea water gets warmer (which means more evaporation which means larger and more violent storms)."
What does extra CO2 do?
Simply put: the more CO2 in the air, the less heat can escape from the planet.
Does industry and 6 billion extra people create more CO2?
Yes. Yes they do.
Ergo, even though the planet has natural cycles, this one has a very major cause: humans.
We create industry + 6 billion extra people’s worth of CO2. And that warms the Earth.
Now ...[text shortened]...
- sea water gets warmer (which means more evaporation which means larger and more violent storms).
That is another myth. Evaporation alone doesn't cause violent storms. It must be combined with a cooler upper atmosphere for a hurricane to form. That is why there are more hurricanes in a colder climate and less of them in a warmer climate. The Great Hurricane of 1780 was the deadliest and it was during a cooler climate.

Your claim simply is not supported by history, or science. You are another myth spreader and a science denier.

@jimm619 saidThat has been the case since the ice age ended. That is normal. So are ice ages. They are normal too because they are cyclical. The planet gets warmer quickly, ice caps melt and the sea levels rise at the end of every ice age. That is normal.
Why do these dunces bury their head in the sand?
This isn't a left wing, right wing thing,
the planet is getting warmer quickly, ice caps melting, the sea is rising.
In 50 years people will lament, ''Why did no one do anything?''

@metal-brain saidI haven't paid attention to this thread all the way through but rain is normal too. That doesn't mean we should not construct roofs.

Climate change is both natural and preventable with human ingenuity.

What the hell does that have to do with anything?
Are you doing drugs with Gary Busey?
@metal-brain saidThe science is freely available to everyone. You just ignore it in favour of whatever conspiracy you read last. If the vast majority of world scientists can't convince you, the hell i will.
"No dear, climate change deniers are simply the ones who don't believe humanity is the main cause of the quite recent occurences. "
First you have to prove that. Where is your proof?
This is what's aggravating on this subject. We keep engaging you (while on the toilet at work or being extra bored) as if climate change is still up for debate. This lends your side credibility, as if there are still two sides to this debate, that there even is a debate. There isn't. Climate change is happening, it is mostly man made and we're going to be in a fukton of trouble because of it.
What can still be debated is if we're gonna be alive when it gets really fuked up or if that's our grandchildren's problem. We can debate on what can still be done to salvage this and if we are even willing to do so.
The hell i am going to spend more than 5 minutes calling you stupid. The hell i, a non scientist, gonna try to convince a moron across the globe when real scientists, who devoted their life work on this, who can actually understand in detail this, couldn't

The vast majority of world's climate scientists agree with me. The opinion of scientists that have no education in climate science is of no relevance to consensus. They don't have qualified opinions.

It is a fact. There are fewer storms as the earth warms. Does mediabiasfactcheck call the BBC a pseudo-science conspiracy theory site too?

"Although the study projected that there would be fewer extreme weather events in the future, Dr Knutson (Dr Tom Knutson, Noaa meteorologist) said that these storms were likely to be more powerful.
"The model is simulating increased intensity of the hurricanes that do occur, and also increased rainfall rates. This is something that has been seen in previous studies, and the IPCC use this [scenario] as a likely projection for future climate warming. We do not regard this study as the last word on this topic. These changes in intensity are still fairly modest in size."
"A previous study by Noaa scientists showed a 4% increase in storm intensity for every 1C (1.8F) increase in sea surface temperature. Yet, he explained, this study suggested only a 1-2% increase.
"A sea surface temperature (SST) above 26.5C (79.7F) is one of the key factors in the formation and feeding of a hurricane.
"Over recent decades, the surfaces of most tropical oceans have warmed by up to 0.5C (0.9F), which the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) believes has been caused by an increase in greenhouse gas concentrations in the atmosphere."

Reputable scientists in reputable sources know global warming is real and is causing major changes to the planet.
