Well, this very comment should suffice to end any discussion on the value of naturalness for morality.
So: simply because it is observed in nature doesn't make it right or wrong in and of itself. That is,
people who say, 'Monkeys do it, therefore it's okay' aren't making a very coherent argument
(because monkeys also rape), but neither are the people ...[text shortened]... omosexuality? Harm to society? And if so, what harm are we
talking about?

What a logic!!!!!!!
Do you know what, some people don't need brainwashing because they don't have one!
Originally posted by sonhouseSo what, it's just a random coincidence that all these evil religions consistently recognize homosexuality as immoral?

I think you're analysis is superficial. I suspect that modern religion has inherited its disapproval of homosexuality from its semitic origins. And has already been discussed in this thread, many heterosexuals share an innate aversion to homosexuality (which Nemesio has explained is possibly nuerological). I don't think religion should cop all the blame.

Now, let's look at the morals. Do you think homosexuality is morally wrong?
And why do(n't) you think so?
However, twenty years ago, when HIV first surfaced and it was seen as the gays' fault and opponents of the legalization of homosexuality all thought that homosexuals were pedophiles, homosexuality did seem to harm society. I'm glad that much of the ignorance over the past twenty years has been cleared up.

EDIT: And if you fall into either one of those catagories you deserve to die a horrible death.
Originally posted by sonhouseDo animals and primitive societies never do anything wrong? So when I do something like steal your sandwich, it's wrong, but if a monkey does it, it's natural? (I HAD a monkey steal my sandwich once, by the way. I was annoyed.) Supposedly, we are not primitive animals any more!

So are we supposed to "know better" when it comes to homosexuality (again, not the genetic form, the causual form)? Why do so many religions find fault with it? Simple narrow-mindedness? Or have we "learned" that it ain't a great idea?
The ancient Greeks were big on homosexuality, democracy, and slavery. Democracy is fantastic, but as for the others...!

Do you really think I'd wish HIV/AIDS on anyone?

Originally posted by Conrau KI do believe that moral reasoning can often be based on fear. So, we

have AIDS, we know that a lot of gay people has gotten AIDS and it
comes from Africa. We can reasonably assume that those who claim not
to be gay, yet is infected with AIDS are closet homosexuals. Therefore
we can only draw the conclusion that God is now punishing all gay people,
hence homosexuality is wrong.
😵
That's an amusing line of reasoning if it's true, wouldn't you say? I mean
it both ensures everyone who isn't gay that they won't attract AIDS as
long as they don't associate with Africans or gay people, and thereby
preventing panic among the heterosexuals from breaking out (because
we all know religious heterosexuals can't handle the harsh naked truth),
while at the same time showing how powerful and "just" the almighty God
is in the eyes of the equal minded. Denial and lack of rational thinking
has such a redeeming quality to it. Beautiful and innocent. Almost
serene.
Which brings me to the point I made earlier in this thread. In some
cases morality can do much more damage than what nature (or God if
you will) made of a person.

"established". 😳
Now, I'm happy again. 🙂
Addition: Though I'm not quite sure what you're trying to say. 😕
