But they can launch missiles SO much easier on the moon with its 1/6 gravity....Of course there is the part where we would have several DAYS notice but who cares about pesky details🙂

Yes, I read China has some plans to do this. It seems like a waste of resources to take over an airless rock with such temperature extremes, but hey - it's their resources so I don't give a hoot.

Since there is water on the moon it is a potential fuel source if they can separate the hydrogen with electricity from solar. There is also enough magnesium and aluminum to make an alloy to build space ships if a moon base can be built.

It is basically a race for space dominance. The low gravity of the moon can cut costs of making stuff on earth and fighting our plane ...[text shortened]... rth's gravity. Manufacturing on the moon will happen, it is just a question of when. The race is on.

Cool, JJ. Only a 2-minute segment, but alas, Kev and McHill and probably Marauder will pick the discussion apart. It is true, of course, but these turkeys have never once been in agreement on anything with us. They will say it is all wrong!!

Of course, there are things that I don't know either, no one is perfect. I have looked up 'meme' and I still have no idea what a meme is.

I think the fear is that China could hoard the water on the moon and deny it to others. The moon has great value as a fueling station. Once they have enough spacecraft around the moon they could do what the Portuguese did to deny people passage to the spice islands, a blockade.

The race is on to hoard moon water. It is extremely valuable.

Funny how all those fake rockets have tens of thousands of sats in orbit around Earth, some up 20,000 odd miles up and I am pretty sure that is outer space, like about 1/10th the distance to the moon.
