But I bet you still have a few AR15's hanging around, PERFECT for home defense, right?

I am a Viet era vet myself and don't feel the need for weapons. My dad was shot to death in a robbery, step dad shot in his back, mom glancing blow to head from the gang's pistols. I don't live in fear despite that tragedy.

I just knew I should have typed "four" instead of "4".

Can you imagine the size of that thing? Talk about a hand cannon.

Your dad...and stepdad....and mom....all shot by gangsters at various times, and you don't live in fear .....good for you.
I don't believe you or your stories.

Browning Hi-Power was an awesome gun when introduced, it was John Browning's last pistol design before his death in 1926, and like all of his other guns it has stood the test of time. It is still a top choice, accurate, reliable, and it is elegant compared to the big black blocky plastic Glocks and their clones.
Blocky they may be, but they're light. I don't need a gun to be elegant.

I have a small G43 (1.25 lbs., with loaded mag) I can put in my purse, even a small purse, and it doesn't feel like a copy of War and Peace.

And no, I've never had to pull it on anyone. Last resort stuff, as it should be.

AFAIK, though, Browning doesn't make a 9mm.

Ok, that's different. ๐Ÿ™‚

They don't make flechette pistols. But they do make flechette shells for shotguns.

Losing your father is bad enough in the best of times. I'm sorry you had to go through that trauma.

BTW, not at 'various' times, it was all on the same day, same robbery.

Sound familiar?
Yeah, nothing runs away with a .22 in it's heart.

Thanks. My mom was shot but a glancing blow to her head and step dad shot in the back, just missed his spine, he is nearly deaf and the gang came in and Carl did not see or hear them, had a customer paying up, he bent down to get a bag, they thought he was reaching for a gun, the only gun was a shotgun in a back room, so they shot him aimed right at his back as he was bending down, the bullet went in parallel to his spine about an inch away and he was lucky he was not paralyzed.
Dad was fighting one of the robbers and almost got HIS gun away from him and his buddy came in and shot him in the head point blank.

I was in Scottsdale ATT, and drove to the Salton sea where their business was at about 100 mph the whole day daring cops to stop me but I got all the way there without seeing one cop. Way too late for the docs to fix him though.
None of that gang was charged with murder but a few weeks later they tried to rob a bank, upping their bid, but they got caught and THEN they were arrested for robbery but not my dad's murder.
I have a brother who lives there and he was gone ATT, he probably would have been killed if he had been there but he has friends in low places and the guy who killed my dad mysteriously died with a shiv and nobody got charged with THAT.
