For a retired accountant living in the sunset, all very well to be posting from the comfort of a seat in atypical keyboard warrior style.

You more than Israelis themselves protesting against there own government.
Notice I make no personal comments about you. I would be more interested in reading what you have to say regarding the points I made ... if you have any.

There are many reasons why Israelis may not like their government, and I am interested in none of them. My only interest is in the outcome of this war, which if escalates can change peoples lives all over the world.

A few people dying does not interest me. People die all the time many in horrific circumstances, and from starvation ... I have more sympathy for these people, than those in Gaza who were dancing and rejoicing after Hamas Oct 7th massacre of Jews.

Prince William says 'too many have been killed' in Israel-Hamas war and calls for 'end to fighting as soon as possible'.
In a rare statement on the crisis, the heir to the throne said he is "deeply concerned about the terrible human cost" of the Middle East conflict.

Everyone loves to say the first sentence, which goes something like "Too many have been killed and the fighting should end as soon as possible." But nobody seems to venture into the second sentence, which starts "After that,..."

You want Israel to stop the war now? Fine. Even let's put aside the hostage issue. Maybe they could be exchanged. Fine.

How to you ensure that Hamas doesn't go right back to planning another 10/7 the split second the war stops?

Without an answer to this question, "stop the war" is a meaningless bromide.

That's been discussed many times: stop kicking Palestinians out of their homes and taking over their land. Remove the blockade. Those are the reasons Hamas cited for attacking.

Don't get me wrong: Hamas needs to be eliminated. But Hamas was created out of Palestinian oppression.

And round and round in circles we go.

The "blockade" is to prevent Hamas from getting serious weapons they can use against Israel. Maybe without the blockade they'd have killed 13,000 on 10/7, and not 1,300.

Hamas can cite whatever it likes. It's all pretext. They want to kill all Jews (read their charter) and there's nothing Israel or anyone else can do that will make them run out of pretexts.

===Hamas needs to be eliminated. ===

Isn't that the same thing as saying the war cannot end now? If not, exactly how will Hamas be eliminated?

Incidentally, even I disagree with your statement. I don't think it's possible to eliminate Hamas. But Hamas does need to be contained and rendered incapable of organizing and carrying out another attack, at least for the foreseeable future.

In any case, Hamas was created of an Islamic fundamentalist desire to make Palestine Judenrein, not any "oppression."

I do agree that there seems to be no other solution. Since Hamas hides among civilians the only way to eliminate Hamas is to murder those very civilians.

Honestly, this current war may be the only way to finally end the conflict between Israel and Palestine. Scores of people will have to die now so that more people don't die in the future.

There is no answer to this conflict except that one side win decisively, once and for and all. For the most part, the conflict has been a chicken-or-the-egg situation: Hamas attacks because of the blockade which is a human rights violation, the blockade was created because Hamas are terrorists, and so on all the back to 1948.

You're a loudmouth in Trinidad who is detached from reality (does not know what :_)

- Israeli people are demonstrating about
- EU leaders are calling for
- UK labour party is calling for

Please shut up and go back to your retirement, stupid burger.

I love it ... more personal attacks. Its an indication of a failed argument, and a weak man.

The only real way to end the bloodshed on the long term is a negotiated two-state solution.

Unfortunately, neither side is serious about negotiating one right now.

This situation is one big merry-go-round, fueling the conflict, talking about peace, providing military aid when will it end?

US >> Israel needs to show restraint or be more clinical.

US >> Signs of Billions of USD and provides military aid package for Israel

Israel >> We are going after Hamas

Israel >> Bombards Gaza with F-35, tanks, shelling, snipers

Israel >> Reduces Gaza to rubble, no electricity, water

International Community >> Provides funding to rebuild Gaza

Iran >> provides funding and Support for Hamas

Gaza >> Fire rockets at Israel

Back to square one

No, it actually shows nothing of the sort.

What is shows is that everyone thinks you’re an obnoxious fascist kunt.

No more, no less.

Well, one thing more, you’re obviously an incel. You have that stench about you.

No such thing as a 2SS any more. Israel was always interested in doing that, but not after this round of hostilities. The Palestinians from the very start in 1948 said there will be no such thing and all the land is theirs. Surveys done recently during this war shows that about 90% of Gazans support a 2SS, but only as a temporary measure leading eventually to full Palestinian country from the river to the sea.

So more war and bloodshed is in their future.
