Seriously, I am truly amazed at the TIME and MONEY our govt spends, arguing within the confines of their domains about Each Other. Nothing done about policy and programs for the people.
Like, if a farmer and his wife are fighting all day in the house while the crops and produce rot in the fields.
The problem is specific to Republicans. Their constituents seem to want them to do nothing, or at least they don't care when they consistently fail to solve problems.

When the libbies had all the control for a brief time, things got done.

If McCarthy hadn't hit the Sunday talk shows to dishonestly try to blame Democrats for the near shutdown Gaetz and his allies were openly attempting to create perhaps a few Democrats might have been willing to save his position as Speaker.

We'll never know.

100% of the house democrats gleefully voted to remove the house speaker even though he gave them what they wanted, seems like a few would have voted to retain him.
Democrats vote in lock-step no matter what.

But it is the things they do. TYhey spend so much. They are in the process of spending billions to pay the loans of losers. Any one who does this is himself a loser.
Do you not see this? It is 'what' they do. A man can be so busy doing things, when he takes something from someone else. You are saying the being-busy part is the main thing?

It's the best they can do? You're brainwashed. What a crock. Republicans get away with doing nothing, striking out looking, and you give them a pat on the back like a little league coach.

Clinton worked with Republicans, cut and balanced the federal budget. It's doable.

I had never even heard that. I assumed that dems voted to oust him because he opened impeachment proceedings against Biden. I don't really understand it though. Did Dems think they would get a more favorable republican to replace him?

I think this whole thing is amusing. Mitch McConnell advised House Republicans to take away the rule that allows one member of Congress to call a vote to remove the speaker of the House. I would expect that from an establishment POS like McConnell.

Moscow Mitch, Jim Jordan, Matt Gaetz, MTG, Grassly, Trump, all from the same cloth, they should ALL be put in prison because they support the coup attempt on Jan 6 started by Trump, Eastman and that bunch of rotten eggs.
McCarthy reneged on his agreement made between him and Biden. He could not be trusted to honor his word because he is ruled by nutjobs like MTG and Matt Gaetz, true nutjobs out after power and nothing else.

The democrats shouldn't have helped oust him.
It would have been far better to undermine Gaetz en use McCarthy as their own puppet.

McConnell supported funding the Ukraine war and blamed Trump for the Jan 6th riot.
You are a pathetic liar.

You are actually making a lot of sense for once. He was making deals with the democrats. That is why Gaetz turned on him and he openly said if he was still speaker after the vote he would be serving at the pleasure of the democrats.

Did dems turn on him just because of the impeachment proceedings against Biden?
Why would dems care if there is no evidence as they always claim? If they are really so confident the investigation will turn up nothing why do they care?

Dems secretly are worried Biden will be caught doing wrong. Money changed hands to the Bidens through shell companies. The owners of these shell companies are secret and the establishment wants to keep it that way, but a congressional investigation might pry those secrets open in a special exception for the Bidens.

Hey idiot it’s called politics, Mcarthy was trying to ride two horses, which might be doable until it you come to a fence.
He started impeachment against Biden devoid of evidence on the orders of trump and his MAGA crew in the house, he left Ukrainian aide out of bill to keep the government open, but no matter what he did he signed his own resignation letter when he gave Gaezt the power to constantly dethrone him whenever he wanted to.
I’m sure the dems are as Machiavellian as the any other politicians and if they thought they could control Mcarthy by supporting him they would have done.
Much better to let the swing voters watch the gop stabbing itself to death

"He started impeachment against Biden devoid of evidence"

If there is no evidence then why does it bother democrats in the house?
Why don't they all be like John Fetterman and just laugh it off as if it means nothing?
If there is no wrongdoing to find what are you afraid of?

I fear it is too late. These moments are ripe for Democratic Pouncing!!

It is too late Joe. Democrats are sitting back, watching Republicans "eat their own." Matt Gaetz and his little band of loonies forgot one of the cardinal rules of politics: "If you break it, you bought it!" You can't pin this one on the Lib's. The lunatic fringe of the right wing created this mess - now they own it. 😏
Agreed. This debacle cannot be blamed on the Democrats. McCarthy signed his own death warrant when he agreed to change the rules on motions to vacate.

What we pin on the libs is the wild expenditure of the future, creating debt for our children. While you make their 'geennnnnder' so all-important an issue, we concentrate on their having a great, normal future. That's about it. So, 8 repubs agree with me that we have to stop your spending. The Speaker did not do his job, meet his commitments. Maybe we can put Kamala in ...[text shortened]... family, though, will be fine as we watch all this happen.......until the day you knock on my door!!
Trump ran up the third highest national debt of any U.S. president in history, and that was before his utter mismanagement of the pandemic. The second highest was run up by George W. Bush. Tell us again about Republicans and fiscal responsibility.

How was he going to change the rules and why does it matter?
