It may bother some, but then some right-wingers are always in a state of high dudgeon, and the sane portion of the country is under no obligation to care what they think.
hmm, sane as in blind to the truth? However, you are right, they are no under any obligation to care what the right-wingers have to say. They have the right to stay in their comfort zones and watch our country go down the drain more and more. 😉

Go down the drain more and more?

Has it been going down the drain recently? You're not implying Bush is responsible, are you?

No, when this countries government started to do things that were not put forth for them to do by the Constitution this country started going down the drain. Yes, we had some good spikes, however, in the long run it has caused more damage that may not be able to be fixed. Look up some things on Ron Paul and you should be able to figure out what it is I mean.

So would you mind explaining to me how an unsourced 'quote' from a discussion board on Amazon.com is going to signal the country going down the drain? In fact, I'll make it easy for you: even assuming the material was true, how does the refusal of a candidate to salute the American flag entail that the country is going down the drain?

Do you think the Constitution is that set in bedrock?

Bush and co haven't ... weakened the Constitution?

No, I will not. You are too blind to see. These quotes are not the only sign, in fact the quotes are no sign, it is the people who are blinded by this man that is a sign. Each sign may not be as obvious as this one. You have to look for yourself. For someone who is so much against any type of government you sure are definding this one.

Yes, I believe they have taken a chunk out. However, they have not done anything that others have not. We, the people, are to blame for letting this go on for far too long and we will pay sooner than many think.

I dare say that it is not 'you, the people' who are to blame - it is the fault of the Bush supporters who can never find fault with anything the guy does.

Quite literally, if Clinton had done (suspending reality and assuming he was successful) any of what Bush has done over the last eight years ... do you think perhaps the media storm would be a tad more ferocious than the odd drop of rain that fell when Bush was eviscerating your constitution and becoming this omnipotent, secretive force?

Yes. It's disturbing but not a deal breaker.

It should be disturbing that this is even an issue.

No, what it bothers many of us is people who know nothing about politics and base their ideas on a stupid political marketing war, e.g. photos of Obama dressed with a traditional Nigerian dress or McCain saying something stupid about his wife as Miss Buffalo Chip, etcetera.

While Americans keep treating their politics as Hollywood instead of a confrontatio ...[text shortened]... conomic power and their political puppets will remain doing with the country whatever they want.
Why do you care who runs the show so long as they continue to allow illegal aliens to descend upon our country and strip it bare like some Biblical plague of hungry locusts?

Really? So this government requires that people not salute the flag? That they not sing the U.S. national anthem?

I really don't know how expressing my disinterest in the whole pharisaical show of who's-the-bigger-patriot could be construed as "defending this one [the U.S. government]" otherwise.

I hear he will push for this as our national anthem.
