OK, you can change the subject from Denmark to the UK, you guys do that all the time.
The UK. Truly, comparing the Denmark situation to ours is impossible, and cannot be utilized in the USA society. (I note that you say you would take UK over our system anytime....Ole Joe, here, I rather like doing my own picking and my own PERSONAL health coverage. Kev, you lik ...[text shortened]... Stifled prosperity. But, oh so happy. Creepy stuff. Would you rather be dependent, or independent?

No you clown you said it only works in homogeneous countries and I gave you an example of a non homogenous country where it works. You then claim I changed the subject! Rebutting your argument with facts is not changing the subject, it’s called a rebuttal.
If you cannot or do not want to debate why do you bother posting.
Phew! You guys honestly!
“ I rather like doing my own picking and my own PERSONAL health coverage. Kev,”
Yeah as explained to you countless times you can still do that in the uk if you WANT TO!

@averagejoe1 saidSocialism guarantees you work.
Working health care system? Do you think the democratic approach will result in a healthcare system that works? I guess you will have to define works. If you want to crunch the numbers right now, don’t forget to factor in the wave of caravans coming in over the border. What a laugh.
I think if you Google which media outlets are liberal or conservative, you will find t ...[text shortened]... g. Media does indeed want unions, we want right to work. They want socialism. Wherre’ve you been?
That’s besides the point.
Liberal is bloody conservative. Compared to Europe.
None of your mainstream media outlets promotes the nationalization of electricity, water, infrastructure, etc.
Capitalist. All of it.
Most are just not madhatter crazy.

@kevcvs57 saidTo follow your logic would be to stipulate that the health program in Denmark is the same as the health program in UK. You are saying that 'it'....the program...works in the UK and 'it' also works in Denmark.

That is what you are saying in your post above. They are not the same program, they each have their own peculiarities.
One reason??? Because the crowd they they serve in one is different than the crowd they serve in the other.
Apples and Oranges. Denmark and UK. I apologize for saying you changed the subject. I learned to humbly apologize from Sonhouse.

@averagejoe1 saidAt four in the night? Are you mad?
Hello? I'm sorry,??? are you there.......
This is a web forum, not ICQ. We're not at your impatient beck and call, Boy. It may surprise you, but I have other things in my life that are more urgent than correcting your mistakes.

@averagejoe1 saidThe Netherlands, 17 million, many of them Turkish, Moroccan, Indonesian, Surinam, what have you.
It may work there if they are Homogeneous countries, denmark NorwayScandinavia, minimal populations (5M is it?), strict borders.
We hear you, so, tell us, what countries are you speaking of? To compare the USA to, that is. 330,000,000 million, non-homogeneous.
The UK, 66 million mostly fools, many, many colonials from all over the world, not to mention Celts...
Ok, not quite as large as the USA, but homogenous? Have you ever been to London, Birmingham or Rotterdam?
An honest answer please.
Don't mistake me for yourself. I may answer sarcastically, but never dishonestly.
Or you could try that time-worn gambit of writing about Trump. I haven’t heard his name on the forum in 20 minutes.
You brought him up, not me. The USA's misapprehension that affordable healthcare is scary and expensive is older than he is.
But hey, we don't have this fixation with keeping the poor in their place. We'd prefer them not to be ruined by a single bout of bad luck. Maybe that's what you mean with "homogenous"?
22 Jan 21
@shallow-blue saidEnough. Many economists have concurred, Nordic wont work here....maybe because they know we are about to be overwhelmed with aliens? It is a FACT that we cannot have welfare and open borders at the same place Ike. Whew.

You don’t think healthcare will be expensive? Get this. Biden said no tax increase for under $400K. Here is the lie....He wants a Wall Street Tax. If you and everyone have IRA or 401K, it is invested in Wall Street, so the 5% tax on your investments will eat it up....you will have to work for about 3 more years.
I speak facts, you fellows are emotional jelly. Why, I could just scream😵

@averagejoe1 saidNo, that's how you think about it. What we're saying is that all of these countries have healthcare for all, not that they all arrange it the same way. That's your own argument, not ours: that universal healthcare cannot work in the USA because the USA is not the same as Denmark and, since the USA would be obliged to arrange universal healthcare the same as Denmark, that's impossible.
To follow your logic would be to stipulate that the health program in Denmark is the same as the health program in UK. You are saying that 'it'....the program...works in the UK and 'it' also works in Denmark.
Our argument, by contrast, is that so many different countries all manage to arrange some sort of universal healthcare in so many different ways, it is ridiculous that the USA should be the only exception in the Western world. Yours is the only "system" which favours nobody except large financial institutions. It's a disgrace that so many of you pretend that you cannot come up with a solution, when every other civilised country has done so.
@averagejoe1 saidNobody who isn't dishonest - that is, nobody but shills for the insurance industry, such as you - pretends that you have to follow the Nordic model. The problem isn't that you're not following the Nordic model, it's that you mammonistically refuse to implement any model of reasonable healthcare at all.
Enough. Many economists have concurred, Nordic wont work here....
We're not insisting that you should lather your sick in herring paste, maple syrup and gold dust. We're telling you that it is a disgrace on your country that its citizens can go bankrupt over a single life-saving operation. Don't you feel a teensy bit ashamed over that lack of neighbourly love?
As for expensive, it's been shown, repeatedly, that what you have now is more expensive than anything any other country has. Universal healthcare is not nearly as expensive as universal litigation. But hey, all the money it costs you goes to insurers and lawyers rather than to the sick and unfortunate, and I'm sure that's just how you like it.
@averagejoe1 saidStop lying about what you’ve posted, you were claiming that social health care systems free at the point of use and funded by taxpayers could for some unexplained but obviously racist reason could only work in homogenous societies. You were wrong snd proven wrong so now your pretending that’s not what you were saying.

@shavixmir saidOf course, under capitalism , which we love and revere, (helps us be independent and free from government......I just hate it for you and Kev) indeed does NOT promote nationalization of Anything. You have got to be kidding. You fellers are all about government. Brrrrrr. Why do you not want to think and act for yourself? Curious indeed. And by the way, it gets tiresome seeing europeans comparing the USA to Europe. Who cares what y'all do in Europe? You are aware that your ruminations always seem to allude to socialism, marx, whatever. Conservatives here fight on, altho I am afraid the Biden administration will probably take us over the cliff. We will be like you and Kev!!!!!!!
Socialism guarantees you work.

@shallow-blue saidYour first paragraph is well-written, thank you. It should not be too difficult to understand.

Your negative comment about our financial institutions gives me pause. We are a very rich nation with ultimate opportunity. Our Taxes are lower than, say, Denmark or Norway, so that we can use our personal money to open businesses, which become profitable, create jobs, and are right up there with the successful 'financial institutions'.....insititutions which loan money to the small business so that the business can get rich and create jobs and computers and cell phones. Uhhh, Who made the ones you are using???? Not the government, I assume.
As to our disgrace, providing health care to aliens and non-producers, bicycle riders, etc, how do you propose we medicate everyone and do everything else that we are supposed to do> Yang wants Universal Basic Income. Free College, , no repayment of loans, the works. All of this ridiculousness would mean that we would have to restructure our entire society and economic system..........all at the while ceasing to be the greatest country in the world. Cant do it all.
Do you know that Biden wants to have welfare and open borders at the same time?? DO you know, that is totally impossible.? And that doesnt even consider free college and other free stuff. You a Bernie kind of guy? He is a socialist. You cannot be.
22 Jan 21
@kevcvs57 saidI've answered this in my couple of posts above. Here is a question for all of you. These ideas have been studied by a lot of people smarter than you and me. Including Bernie, who COULD NOT come up with a way to do it......or, Trump people would have done it. In other words, it cannot be done in this country under our present structure.
Stop lying about what you’ve posted, you were claiming that social health care systems free at the point of use and funded by taxpayers could for some unexplained but obviously racist reason could only work in homogenous societies. You were wrong snd proven wrong so now your pretending that’s not what you were saying.
So tell us how you would do it. I will tell you right now, we aint going to ride bicycles, and we like to make as much money as we can. No time to fly kites and play happy. Trying to raise successful kids, to take care of themselves, to be dependent on no one.
So how would you do it, given those parameters ???

@averagejoe1 saidWere you hit in the head by a flag with a cross on it, when you were five, that you are so obsessed by these countries?
Denmark or Norway
22 Jan 21
@shallow-blue saidShallow, sorry, but it was you that brought up oher countries, the 2nd post on page 4. Then, after I thought I would filter a bit and name the ones you are obviously referring to, Marauder weighed in, naming those countries in Europe. The ones who have a real throat-hoid on their citizens . I am not obsessed, as you say, but it is entertaining to banter about them. I wonder in amazement how people give up so much to be controlled by a government. "YOU, are number 6!!"
Were you hit in the head by a flag with a cross on it, when you were five, that you are so obsessed by these countries?
@averagejoe1 saidWhy are you still parroting the Trump lies?
