What they fail to tell the poor is that if you're poor now, you don't have to be poor in the future. If this view is incorrect, then why do so many immigrants come to the United States to take menial jobs, save their money and ...[text shortened]...

Finish high school.
Do not have children before you are married.
Work full time at a job.
That's just waaaay too much personal responsibility....
Just let my "brothers" take care of me.

What about it??? I thought you were arguing that non-smokers cost the health service less money!

If you can't be bothered to respond then fair enough.
Thanks for the conversation anyway, I've enjoyed it. 🙂

Why are you now writing such drivel, honestly!? Of course, a dead smoker costs us less than a live non-smoking pensioner, that goes without saying... where's this going to? 😴

Several years ago UK Chancellor Gordon Brown stated that all revenues raised from cigarette taxes will henceforth go directly to the NHS. This is still the case. Happily, smokers may relax in the knowledge that they are not contributing directly to the treasury war chest just by smoking and are in fact directly paying towards their own treatment.
Is this (still) happening?? Is all the tobacco tax paying for the treatment of smoking-related diseases?

Its not going anywhere. I've finished what I have to say.

Ah! I see you're giving up. Thanks for the correction, English is not my first language by the way and this was actually just a typo.

PS: you should use "it's" in your sentence which is the contraction for "it is". You did that twice 😉

Ah! You're not English! Then you have my respect for having such a good command of the language.

Yes - I give up. It seems you will maintain your point of view whatever I say - but hopefully I have given you something to think about on the costs of smoking.
Au revoir.
