Actually, this is plain wrong. I remember the furore a few years ago when Morrisey draped himself in a Union Jack. Half his fans accused him of being a facist and said they'd never buy his records again. We are quite sensitive in this country about right wing imagery, but then I think that's a good thing - the last thing we want is to allow facists like the BNP to enter the mainstream.

I was going to say Harry shows that even with socially prominent parents and the best education money can buy, you can still end up with no knowledge of history and of issues important to those outside your closed society, and be an embarrassment to your countrymen everytime your minders let you out of their sight.
But I guess George W Bush has already demonstrated the truth of that.

There is nothing wrong with the act itself. However he is a public figure and a distinct member of a royal family and he should behave according to his status. That's the price to pay for being royalty, IMO.
Can we get rid of them now please, I seem to remember his great great uncle was one of them as well.

To equate the two?
In case you missed it... and i'm sure you did, Bush won the last two elections here because he was NOT an embarrasment to his "countrymen". Quite the opposite. He represents us extremely well. 53 to 47 percent well, at any rate.
Let me guess. You can brand us all idiots because you are a socialist who got caught stealing or raping? And that is your right. How dare they "catch" you?
How did you end up in prison? What did you do to get there? If is isn't too "socialist" for this forum?

If you are not the old steer fu**JKer... who are you? Stranger?
And what does your 51 vs 49 mean? Or don't you know? I'll bet you don't. But it sounded good. right?

Those are the results to the 2004 presidential election in your own country. The gulf between the Democrats and the GOP was 3%, not 6%, as you claim.
As I know? You ignored the "nutty" element. The greens and the "animals are people" types. Let me guess. You think that pigs are people?

Before you completely hijack the thread, I suggest you apologise to Steerpike for unfairly reproaching his character. Failing that, you might want to consider dispensing with your fatuous ad hominem attacks and returning to the topic.
I wonder. What can make a real steerpiker endure such climes?
You seem a real intellect. Sorry.
What could have gotten into his miserable soul to have placed him at odds with such a wonderful society?
The whole world wonders. To play a little sad joke on taffy 3 and the brave and wonderful admiral. (sorry bull)
Originally posted by MayharmWell there is a great plain wrong generalisation. Football is the national sport of England, the majority of people in the UK will have some connection to either the national team or a football club of some form. Are you suggesting a majority of English people are worse than the BNP?
Well I hope nobody votes the english football fans in, they must be worse than the BNP...

The BNP represents a group of misguided individuals who have been brain washed into believing their own troubles can be placed at the doors of hardworking imigrants. They are ruined by their own hatred of the society they live in. The fact that a few of these nutters support football teams does not condem all English, rather reflects a statistical probability given the ammount of people in England who follow football.
My understanding was that a large number of the top British aristocracy were pro Nazi, particually in the mid 1930's. Edward VIII was a pro Nazi symphosiser, and would probably have been returned to the throne of Britain had Nazi Germany won the war, this would have been to "legitimise" the occupation with the people of Britain. I think it is fair to say that a large proportion of the existing British Elite are white supremicists, and really do view non-whites as inferior to them.
I think such a noise was made about this as it was so close to the truth. Almost to distort it with over covage to bore us.
This does not seem completely factually correct but gives an idea...
