I saw the news today, prince harry dressed as a nazi to a fancy dress party.

He gave a written apology to eveyone.

They are asking him to visit a death camp and get educated.

I say more time and effot should be put into stoping the real nazis.
i agree.. but as for the prince.. well.. its just a party.. he went there to have fun for God's sake.. if he truly meant to offend anyone, then fair enough he should be told off (which he was)..

but i do think he done it just for the sake of having fun.. whats the big deal? once he actually say he supports the nazies or act upon it, then thats a different matter..

give the guy a break.. how many parties have i seen with sadam, bush etc etc costumes? tons.. wore by normal individuals.. now just coz the guy found himself a prince he should be stripped of his personal rights to act as normal indivdual? not fair..

Hmmm, yes, but once again, this wasn't just any old fancy dress party, it was a Natives and Colonials theme night - don't you find that even a little bit offensive? If this was still the Black and White Minstrels era he might reasonably hope to get away with it, but it isn't; and in the meantime the royals enjoy immense legal, political and financial privileges (try prosecuting them in a criminal court and see how far you get). We expect more from potential heads of state, and we have no interest in funding obscurantism.

As for the apology - how many days of sullen refusal passed before the national outcry finally forced his hand? It was very nearly a week, and when the apology came it was extremely grudging and hedged around with caveats.

i cannot judge his intentions until he maked them puplic (or meet me at my local and make him confess under the influence)

at the end of the day he has tons to learn from, whether he done to provoke reaction or get some attention, whether he done it for the sake of having fun, whatever the reason, that doesn't matter as its in the past now..

but as the "royals enjoy immense legal, political and financial privileges" they also "enjoy" a lot of headache, their lives are watched, actions whatever small or pointless are magnified to make them look like criminals.. thats what sells these days..

i am not a royal fan, but i do feel sorry that a kid of his age, trying to have a bit of harmless fun, caused lots pointless headache, to him, to the british puplic.. and to me now.. ouuuuww.. where is my aspirins...

Sure, but it isn't as if they have no choice in the matter - if they can't cope with the pressure, all they have to do is resign from the succession and revoke their privileges. If they're as wonderful as the tabloids claim, they naturally won't require state welfare to help them make it in the real world.

hmmm i see your point, but will never happen.. what i say is that support them while they are there or remove them (pointless, expensive business for us)

by what good is it to ruin the reputation of the royals if we just have to put up with them anyway..

No, no need, just buy the literature, it's very instructive - they're always on the look-out for volunteers for the roadshows, too.

i can't believe anyone especially a member of the british monarch would not see the harm in putting that hate sign on there sleeve. a costume is a costume, that was a badge of evil.
