@metal-brain saidPersonally, I'd rather see guns disappear. But as a compromise with gun nuts, let's start by getting rid of weapons made for mass assault. Anything is better than nothing at this point.
So you want to ban high capacity magazines?
Is that all?

@shavixmir saidYes, but you Dutch folks don't have a 2nd amendment, we do.
Uh… yes.
Look at the Netherlands. You can’t own a semi-automatic rifle… and we have 0 mass shootings with semi-automatic rifles.
Now, this could all be down to door control, praying to Jesus or enough good guys with guns… but you know as well as I what the secret is.
Nobody in US government is suggesting banning semiautomatic rifles that I am aware of. The AR 15 is just one of many semiautomatic rifles people can legally buy. If the AR 15 is banned there are other semiautomatic rifles to choose from.
You want the USA to be like the Netherlands. Apparently you don't like our constitution, but it ain't up to you.

@shavixmir saidWould you be happier if they used a crossbow?
Or just get rid of gun nuts. They are parasitical on society.
@metal-brain saidYou do realise that I am entitled to an opinion on gun related crime. Especially since you lot have 11 threads on the subject on the first page.

Yo do realise, as I’ve pointed out multiple times, your constitution is out-dated and needs fixing?
You do realise, as has been pointed out quite often, that the second amendent you trailer trash allude to doesn’t actually say you are allowed to own and bear arms; outside the context of a well regulated militia (read: army)?
You do realise that during a football game the guy making the calls, the referee, isn’t from one of the two competing teams… this has to do with objectivity… expand that thought if you will…
You do know that the US constitution is based on the 1579 Dutch constitution (establishment of the confederal republic of the Seven United Provinces)?
Grow up.

@metal-brain saidI presume I’d be happier if they were dead.
Would you be happier if they used a crossbow?
06 Jun 22
@shavixmir saidTell us Americans to change the 2nd amendment all you want. Nobody seems motivated to fixing the constitution. You don't honestly think that will happen, do you?

@metal-brain saidI couldn’t care less.

However, it is my obligation to point out the faults of your system (and Europes’ stystems and systems anywhere else).
They don’t need to change, people just need to be able to see the faults.
@shavixmir saidSo would they. Nobody shoots up a school and expects to come out alive. That is part of the problem. They are suicidal. That is why they go in. They intend to die.
I presume I’d be happier if they were dead.

@shavixmir saidWe already know those faults.
I couldn’t care less.
However, it is my obligation to point out the faults of your system (and Europes’ stystems and systems anywhere else).

Knowing them and changing it are not the same thing.

@metal-brain saidBest not take the chance.

@shavixmir saidWe are not worried. We don't have as many jerks like you over here. We shot most of them.
Best not take the chance.

@sonhouse saidWhy not just raise the age for military service?
@Metal-Brain
Oh yeah, demanding policy that will never happen, way to go comrade.
Any OTHER anti American BS you want to propagate while you are at it.
Just raising the age to buy weapons has PROVEN to stop teenage sicko's from school shootings but as usual you want to tie that with a political agenda.
Smooth move comrade.
They are too young and naive to know what they are getting into. I know I was when I was that age. Give them some time to learn about foreign policy.
