@metal-brain saidCorrect - we're not as cowardly nor as murderous as you.
Yes, but you Dutch folks don't have a 2nd amendment, we do.
Should that make us feel bad, or you?

@metal-brain saidThe 2nd Amendment doesn't say you can own an AR-15 with a 30 round magazine.
Tell us Americans to change the 2nd amendment all you want. Nobody seems motivated to fixing the constitution. You don't honestly think that will happen, do you?
Nothing will get done until a lot more people are slaughtered, but at a minimum I'd like to see a ban on magazines holding more than 10 rounds, the sale of body armor to civilians and an age of 21 to buy an "assault weapon" or handgun.
Those proposals don't seriously infringe the right to self-defense IMO; let people keep their AR-15s but not have a 30 round mag in it (which is designed for mass killing not self-defense).
@metal-brain saidI don’t care. I have no opinion on gun control at all. CA’s Assault Weapon ban (no longer in effect) seemed to be effective in minimizing these mass shootings. I think. I haven’t studied it closely.
Lower magazine capacity? Is that all?
Biden said he wanted to ban high capacity magazines. Would you be satisfied if that was all that is done or do you want the AR 15 banned too?

@shavixmir saidI thought it was based on the Longhouse system of the Amerindians of the US northeast. Or the Roman Republic.
You do realise that I am entitled to an opinion on gun related crime. Especially since you lot have 11 threads on the subject on the first page.
Yo do realise, as I’ve pointed out multiple times, your constitution is out-dated and needs fixing?
You do realise, as has been pointed out quite often, that the second amendent you trailer trash allude to doesn’t actually sa ...[text shortened]... h constitution (establishment of the confederal republic of the Seven United Provinces)?
Grow up.

@no1marauder saidI didn't realize it, but New York State, which already had a 10 round restriction on magazines, enacted the rest of my suggestions (and some other improvements) recently:

"The Red Flag law in New York will be expanded to allow more people, including health-care professionals, to file risk orders that could lead to weapons confiscations from potentially dangerous people. And it requires, rather than allows, law enforcement to seek an order if credible information is provided.
Semi-automatic rifles, which already difficult to obtain in New York, will added to the list to the weapons requiring a permit and will only be available to those over age 21.
Another bill would ban the sale of body armor to people outside law enforcement or other state-designated professions, and it will add microstamping to bullets — which can better trace their origin. Social media companies will be required to improve their policies around how they respond to hateful conduct on their platforms, as well as “maintain easily accessible mechanisms” for the public to report people."

Of course, federal legislation along these lines would be preferable; the Buffalo shooter easily obtained large capacity magazines from neighboring Pennsylvania which had no restriction on rounds in a mag.
