In fact as an economic conservative one should be happy that society does not have to be pay to house someone in jail before trial.

Nice post. This here is the crux of the matter. There's so much tax money wasted in the system. It's good to see some people thinking about not using tax money if it's not effective. It's Democrats, but still.
I think Wildgrass just said that Democrats do not waste money. Our national budget will thus be quite stable today.

I went all through that BS in the Summer of 2016.

I suggest you read the transcript of James Comey's statement of July 5, 2016 here: https://www.fbi.gov/news/press-releases/press-releases/statement-by-fbi-director-james-b-comey-on-the-investigation-of-secretary-hillary-clinton2019s-use-of-a-personal-e-mail-system
Good morning, Marauder, sorry to pull you out the library. I just posted what I'd promised last night.
One of the fun parts of all this is to set you libs up to have to defend stuff such as the FBI knocking on doors as they do here, for whatever unwarranted purpose. Maybe you can find something in your library to, as usual, defend Biden actions!!!!
If that is too difficult, do an easy one.. tell us that you do not agree with Kamala, who said yesterday that "the border is secure". If you are as smart as your posts make you appear to be, it is curious indeed that you get behind all this hell in DC.

Nothing should replace it and nobody is talking about race in this thread but you conservative nuts.

There are WAY too many people incarcerated in this country.
Race was the whole point of the law:
"Illinois has become the first state to completely eliminate cash bail, a result of a push by state legislators to end a practice they say keeps poor people in jail for months awaiting trial and disproportionately affects Black and Latino defendants."

Life is not perfect. How did they put themselves in a place where they were arrested? I predict that I will never be arrested and placed in a jail. cell.
Now, HOW do I know that!?!??
It would be a good practice for these people, poor or black or Latin, to avoid arrest. I avoid arrest. 😛robably all here avoid arrest.

LMAO! We're heading to Nazi death camps if a Trump supporter gets questioned regarding January 6, 2021 but police can apparently do no wrong if they arrest poor, black and/or Hispanics - who should be jailed indefinitely pending trial.

So they should all just be cited and released and allowed to keep on committing more violent crimes?
Then released some more?
How have you not become the victim of a violent crime yet?
Or have you, and then bravely forgiven your attacker because he didn't have the privileges you have had?

Hire more judges to speed the process and get rid of stupid victimless crime laws to free up space

Not a lot, if any, of "victimless crimes" left on the books.
Even if so, they generally don't get enforced.
We're talking about the monstrous increase in violent crime that has become so commonplace in America today, and the way vicious thugs get let out after a few hours in a cell..

You must be joking or pathetically ignorant.

The vast majority of arrests are for drug "crimes", petty misdemeanors or simple assaults or other minor crimes. Violent crime rates have been dropping for more than three decades.

Now, you must understand that Marauder just gets to say things.
Funny, the phrase 'victimless crime". If I have a clothing store selling hoodies (puke), and a group of a culture, with which I am not familiar, comes in and beats crap out of me, maybe a knife to the gut, I am a victim of a crime!!!
But if they just steal hoodies, is that what you libs call a victimless crime? (forget that I bought all the inventory that they 'bop' out with".)
Please answer, taking into account that police allow them to take the stuff without arresting them.
Standing by.

.....victimless crime....tsk tsk... I cannot believe I converse in this venue with people that use such phrases.

wikipedia.org/wiki/Crime_drop#United_States

In the United States, for example, violent crime rates have fallen by over 50% in many major U.S. cities since these rates peaked in the early 1990s, often referred to as the "Great Crime Decline".[16][17] In New York City, these rates had dropped by 75% from the early 1990s to 2010.[18] In the United States, a second decline in the crime rate was also observed, with homicide rates declining first from 1994 to 2002, and then again from 2007 to 2011.[19] The crime rate in Los Angeles decreased from 1993 onward, including e.g. a decrease in the crime rate of 10% during the first six months of 1998.

How much money you have should not be a factor in whether you are confined while awaiting trial (at which point, you are still legally innocent).
Don't they set bail according to how much you have, and how serious your crime is?

Also, for those poor enough, they have nothing to lose by not showing up for their court dates.

If you don't own a home (perhaps you're staying with your latest girlfriend) and commit armed robbery, why do you even bother showing up for your court date?

This will be nothing but more work for overworked police trying to track down people who can't be bothered to show up.

Violent crime decreased for 3 decades, but since the summer of love they have been going up.

Well then, how about setting bail depending on how much money your wife and child need to live on? If a guy only has $1K, just take $200 of it so they can feed the kids. Up to now, the law does not care about his home duties or responsibilities. How do you bleeding heart liberals stand it. Hey....she should not have married him.
