@Suzianne saidElon has a plan for creating better people. Along with his sperm will be CRISPER creations. The rich will be able to order up gender, beauty, longevity and high IQ kids, They will rule the rest of us.
You know, I thought Donald Trump was the single biggest con man ever, but now I'm thinking that the first few billionaires who backed him while the rest of America laughed at him are the real architects of the demise of the greatest country on earth. I wonder what will be left when all the radioactive ruins of this great experiment in democracy are shoveled into the dustbin ...[text shortened]... a new, bigger idea will be next on this continent, hopefully with a better people as stewards of it.
@wildgrass saidTrump? No, that's quite correct. He will do very little of what he said he would do.
My point was that he doesn't do the things he says he will do.
Let's take deportations for one. Deporting 11 million workers would crash the economy and cause a recession - Wall Street agrees on that. Trump wouldn't tolerate that because of "his legacy." He's VERY sensitive about that. Whatever else he does, he won't jeopardize the fine economy he has been handed.
I spoke to my finance guy today and he confirmed that. Wall Street is *absolutely* sure that NOTHING like 11 million deportations will take place.
SO - what has to happen? Either a few, high profile round-ups/deportations to make everyone think {harumph, harumph} that "they did their job" HOPEFULLY in front of a mass of screaming liberals (Note to Liberals: Don't show up for that. Just let it happen.)
OR, there needs to be another distraction. What that might be is anyone's guess.
But mass deportation - no. Almost surely not.
@Phranny
Yeah, that is what sci fi stories have touted for decades, and I see his talk about neurolinks. It is a frightening development, like the Chinese chips used for our computers and such that has hidden features where they can spy on a computer, keystroke passthrough and such to see just what you type, going to a Chinese agent in Hong Kong or some such place.
I can see some crap put in sneaky like where they can track your thoughts, moods, actions 24/7 and fire a neuron or two to pull you back into whatever measure of behavior is wanted ATT, like extra aggressive mode if you are a warrior or nice and gentle if you are a therapist and if you get aggressive like in a bar fight, you get shut down by the AI monitor.
@Suzianne saidYou do know I was joking, right?
And after we're all under his thumb, what then?
That's right, he's coming after you.
Emperor for life isn't gonna be happy with just us. He has to prove to himself he's better than EVERYbody, even if he has to kill them.
He'll make sh-- up and go after anybody who disagrees, which means you if you start not liking where it's heading.
Hope you like the camps, because it'll be too late to get us to stop him by then.
@spruce112358 saidYes, exactly like last time. Just smoke and mirrors. All of the red meat promises to his supporters will not happen.

Someone needs to pick the strawberries.
@boonon saidWhat else didn't happen?
Are you delusional? Did that happen the first 4 years? Any of that? Please either stop taking your medication or double it.
Illegal immigration? It got worse.
Government spending? Deficits doubled.
Manufacturing jobs? Left for China.
He was bad at being a fascist and president.
@wildgrass saidA whole lot of Americans disagree with you. I am waiting for the final numbers but she lost millions of democractic votes. Biden had millions more than her. Where did they go? To Trump? I'm not sure. I do know that she had millions less votes than Biden got.

@sonhouse saidCriticism is fine. Outright lies are the problem.
@Rajk999
Drama queen. Right. Says the foreigner who has no idea what Trump is capable of.,
Killing the ACA, putting some 40 million people off their insurance. Incarcerating in concentration camps 10 or more million people with WILL tank the jobs market and the economy along with the whatever % tariff, killing the department of education and then his enemies list, I feel f ...[text shortened]... g to come out VERY bad for the US and you all haven't the foggiest idea how dark it is going to get.
@Torunn saidI give the Troglodyte credit for one thing: he did apparently get a majority of the popular vote this time. But he did it by bamboozling the electorate with lies and promises he has no intention of keeping.
Tell me Suzie what you expect will happen. I want your view on this.
For starters, Trump is going to bilk the economy for his own and his billionaire buddies' (e.g., Elon's) greater personal aggrandizement.
He doesn't give a damn about jobs lost in the manufacturing and mining industries (Pennsylvania and Michigan, where he picked up voters). Slapping a tariff on Chinese steel did not bring the steel mill jobs back to Pennsylvania during his first term; it just made Chinese steel more expensive. Putting more tariffs on more imports is also not going to bring back any jobs to historically doomed American heavy industries, because wages in the USA are too high to compete with foreign wages. Heavy industry has been replaced by a knowledge economy (e.g., Mark Z-berg, Larry Paige) in the USA, and vast numbers of American heavy-industry and mining workers missed the boat on that. Trump has no remedy for this and no intention of remedying it; he's all talk and no policy. Just listen to his rambling nonsense about how he would finance childcare ('with such big numbers' ).
@moonbus saidWhen will liberals stop with identity politics, insults and the virtue signalling, and start waking up to the reality that most people are more interested in economic strategy and policies which benefit them first.

The western world needs to get its big fat ideologue nose out of other countries business and stop wasting trillions trying to get everyone to bow to their way of thinking and spend the tax bucks at home protecting borders and supporting their own citizens.
