Teaching our kids

Debates

My wife and I taught our kids that they were in charge of their bodies, no one could touch them if they said no. No one was allowed to say things like let's do this and keep it a secret. Yet now, in schools due to the subject of sex, let's keep this a secret from the parents is being promoted by the government. This undermines parents' authority and puts children at risk from those that would want to keep other secrets away from parents. This must be a pedophile's dream scenario, it started with men can go into women's showers, and restrooms, to let's keep a secret is public policy.

This helps protect those that are being abused by those who are supposed to protect them: their parents. Not everyone has your perfect family.

Taking away the protections family gives for the state is not protecting children it is surrendering our family to the state!

Only in America.

Unless a court (or in some cases social services in anticipation of a court hearing) a kid’s health had to be reported and talked about with the parents.

At least in every normal civilization out here.

Another fictional narrative. Here's what actually happens in schools these days:

"Hello Thomas, welcome to 2nd grade. "

"Actually everyone calls me Tom."

"NOTIFY THE PARENTS!!!!!"

Then you get a 5 page email about it, and an email every week of school after that reminding you that your son is self identifying as Tom.

Do you want anyone to keep a personal sex secret from parents legally, this needs to be a no excuse, no exception RED FLAG issue that anyone wants a child to keep anything secret from the parents. There is NOTHING fictional about this; we have a family friend of ours who remarried and that was what he told the little girl, "Don't tell anyone," isolating the little girl as he abused her!

There should be zero confusion if someone wants to keep things secret from parents, you are setting up children for abuse not protecting them. What a frigging upside-down world some of you live in that you need to protect children from parents, so you want to give up parental rights and surrender control to the state, for the sake of the children!

What do you think governments who have this authority will tell the children that belong to them to do next? Historically, what comes next if the state owns all rights to the children?

It started with abortion, now sex., What is next, "Is your parent a member of this group or that one?"

It is standard procedure in schools not to tell parents if the child is openly transgender at school but hides it at home. Evidence is anecdotal based on my experiences as a teacher and talking to other teachers and school administrators.

If your child wants to keep this secret, and the behavior isnt criminal or against rules, it should not be the schools responsibility to inform parents about everything.

Or maybe we set up a live helmet camera for your kid so you can watch while at work?

You want to people to be able to tell kids lets keep this secret from your parents you are setting them up for abuse. There are only a few reasons why someone would want that to occur.
