To police themselves,, which we all do everyday, is to be sure they break no laws, like we make sure not to run a stop sign. So, yeah , "Right", as you say at the end of sentences a lot, ...Right! The corps police themselves. If you have a company, Suzianne, which I am sure you do, your company polices itself, right?
Good gracious alive......
OMG! The FAA decided to let Boing police itself and now doors and wheels are falling off their planes. Do you really want drug companies, restaurants, factories producing food to police themselves? Oh right, you do not want any government imposed rules or regulations. Just let the buyer beware.

When, oh when, are you going to admit that private property itself is a monopoly only made possible and ensured by "goobermint" force?
The millions and millions of individual property owners are a monopoly? The thousands of properties of every description, apartment, house, duplex, house with quarter acre, house on 1/8th acre, house on 1 acre block, lifestyle block, industrial warehouse, farm, ranch, or a share in any of those already mentioned, available for sale at any moment are a monopoly? The hundreds if not thousands of urban sub divisions opening up more and more opportunities for home and property ownership in almost every city of the world, limited only by goobermint intervention and regulation are a monopoly?

Nope, can't see me admitting that to being a monopoly anytime soon.

The only organisation approaching a monopoly in the US is the state and even then it shuts down only a fraction of available options.

You really still won't admit that without government force and intervention private property didn't and wouldn't now exist? It's the very definition of a monopoly; the State arbitrarily granting exclusive control:

Monopoly:

1: exclusive ownership through legal privilege, command of supply, or concerted action

2: exclusive possession or control

You really do live in a Dream World.

The goobermint is a monopoly? I've often said so. You actually got that line from me.

Edit: The late edit. I have a monopoly on my underpants, cheers.

Surely you can't be that deranged to believe that's an original thought?

Government is a monopoly and it can create monopolies. Governments created the monopoly now called "private property" by the persons in despotic control giving exclusive power over certain natural resources to their relatives or best subordinate killers and excluding such power from the vast majority. This monopoly was promulgated and enforced by nothing more than brute force (as such a deprivation of liberty to most had to be).

The State is "the instrument for establishing monopolies in favour of the ruling minorities." Peter Kropotkin

The concept of private property didn't exist until governments were formed? Everybody just shared everything without a thought of owning anything?
Am I misunderstanding you, or are you seriously claiming that?

Hmmmm,,,you want the government to be in charge, then. Tell us how that will work. We already have the FAA, FDA, OSHA, etc, so just how much more imposition and control do you want the government to. have?
If my question is too easy, I am afraid you will not be able to answer it.

Don't you know that your post made Shav all warm inside, with thoughts of no private property ownership, but rather government ownership? Think of the free housing that would be available.
Note BTW how Shav makes such preposterous suggestions without closing his comments, like 'what would happen then'. I would ask him if those residents would be paying any taxes. Some real doozies inhabit this forum.

Uhhhh, aren't you and Shav the dreamers? You lost me on this one.

Uhoh, now Sue will come along and say something about me being lost, some real creative comment, real knee slappers.
