@Duchess64

Do you suppose that everyone that voted for Trump is desirous of all those traits of the Trumpistans as you declare them?

Remember there are only two major candidates and one will win the presidency. You have to take the the best of the lot, or take the one with the fewest undesirable traits.

I don't call all people that voted for Joe Biden Marxists even though the Marxist wing of the democrat party is glue and the future of the party.

But what ‘credit’ belongs to the workers....i assume that you literally mean the workers.Duchess, surely the workers are not in the Board Romm. Makes the rest of your post a bit waffly.

It is a bit tiresome for yall continuing to interject race into our many issues. Here the issue has evolved into people and corps leaving California. Yet race and Donald Trump are mentioned in all the responses. Very tiresome.

I voted for Trump, but it was that I am concerned that the Biden (family) relation with China is not going to bode well for our country., I am sure you will agree And as we are all realizing there will never be any convictions or 'accountability' (what a meaningless word) of any of the actions of any of the people in DC over the last 4 years, the Bidens know it too, and are going to milk the office for all they can. Do you think Hunter cares what we and 'fox news' say about him? No, he is too busy feeling REAL rich. Y'all have fun with this family.

Even in their worst moments, they are more honest, less obnoxious and much more acceptable than the Trump gang.

You are right about obnoxious. That could be a good trait, though, like when dealing with, and prevailing over, foreign leaders. Suely we will miss that. By the way, this is truly Obamas third term, and you will find Biden bowing to other foreign leaders, which Obama did. Does that not bother you just a little bit?

No.

In fact, it's refreshing to see America stop acting like a spoiled brat that feels entitled to snap up all the resources from other countries.

Unless you think it's perfectly normal for a country with 4% of the world's population consuming 25% of the world's natural resources.
You do see that there is something out of whack there, don't you ?

There has been a shift in the demo. #2 Gates has been displaced by Elon Musk who is Californian but is now moving to Texas.
I don't like Musk anyway. Let him abuse the working class in Texas and leave us alone here in CA.

I am something of a national capitalist... By this, I mean that I think that capitalism should be the general rule of the day, but that the government should interfere wherever necessary in order to benefit the people.

So, I think I can agree with a lot of what the OP is saying, but I hate the way that they take these punches at billionaires as if there is zero merit in their efforts.

Bill Gates, Jeff Bezos, Steve Jobs, and Elon Musk revolutionized the way that many of us live today. Of course, these discoveries and successes would eventually have occurred, but they were the ones at the spearhead, and lead the times that gave us the innovations we all enjoy.

This would be a reactionary model rather than a pro-active one.

The government's role is to prevent problematic situations from happening in the first place. Engaging in laissez-faire capitalism until a serious problem occurs is a recipe for economic disaster.

Regarding your comment about Bill Gates, et al., no one is disputing they work hard. The problem is that such people often use exploitive and unethical practices in order to attain their success. This can range from stealing people's ideas (like Gates did to Jobs) to bullying smaller companies (again, Gates), to exploiting poor workers (like Apple and sweatshops), and the list goes on. This is why capitalism needs to be heavily regulated.
