@no1marauder saidDespite his claims to the contrary, however, Trump’s own former chief of staff John Kelly previously confirmed Trump called dead veterans “suckers” back in 2018.

@no1marauder saidhere are the facts…
Here's the facts:
Trump had four years to end the US occupation of Afghanistan. He did not.
He cut an election year deal with the Taliban behind our Afghan allies' back releasing 20,000 Taliban fighters on the mere promise they would negotiate with the Afghan government. Those negotiations predictably went nowhere and the Taliban went on a major offensive in late 20 ...[text shortened]... No political advantage to doing that, is there?
EDIT: My mistake, it was 5000.fighters released.
“Top generals told lawmakers under oath on Tuesday that they advised President Joe Biden early this year to keep several thousand troops in Afghanistan — directly contradicting the president’s comments in August that no one warned him not to withdraw troops from the country.
The remarkable testimony pits top military brass against the commander-in-chief as the Biden administration continues to face tough questions about what critics are calling a botched withdrawal that directly led to the deaths of 13 American service members, scenes of chaos at the Kabul airport, and the abandonment of American citizens and at-risk Afghans in the war-torn country.”

But the Constitution makes the President commander in chief of the armed forces for a reason. After 20 years of fruitless occupation, it was high time to end the charade. IF the Afghan government and its lavishly equipped army were still not able to hold off the Taliban, they never would be unless the US stayed fighting, killing and dying for God knows how long.
I applaud Biden's politically courageous decision that three Presidents before him refused to make.
@Mott-The-Hoople saidIt didn't take 4 years to broker the deal. The Trump administration waited, because of politics. Why do you think Trump waited until year 4, after the election was over, to sign that deal?

Biden did the right thing, not the politically motivated thing.
@Mott-The-Hoople
Well your supposed 10 star lied. A four star general does not lie about such things, if he said so, I believe him, NEVER anything your orange traitor says.
It is really bad that you have been so deeply duped you literally can only puke out what your so called leader says. You can't think for yourself any more, you have not independent thoughts, ONLY what the magites throw up at you.
It is a sad day in the US where you all never bother to look at history and the history of authoritarians, where some dude with charisma gets a following and the unsuspecting public is NEVER told the real agenda is to gain power and institute a literal dictatorship, it happens all over the world, not just in Hitler's Germany, it is right in front of our noses in Russian, North Korea, China, Iran, Hungary, just to mention a few.
Trump met with three of them already, the disgusting display of meekness in Helsinki where Trump all but licked Putin's boots and saying he is in a love affair with Kim Jon Un and had both Netenyahoo and Erdogan to his place for dinner, Erdogan is Hungary's version of a dictator and Naten YAHOO is about as right wing as it is possible to get, and in the same legal boat as Trump, both of them has to win their elections in order to stave off going to jail.
Just recently he comes into Arlington National Cemetery armed with photogs for a photo op at our national graveyard where there is a law on the books, no politics on our national cemetery but he doesn't give a rats ass about any of that protocol and makes it LOOK like he was honoring the fallen soldiers but he has already made it known he thinkgs those who died or were captured were 'LOSERS' and that is a quote. And OF COURSE he posted the whole sick thing on his so called 'Truth' social. Obviously campaigning which is illegal and no other POTUS in US history ever did anything that vile.
It really rankles for folks like me who DID actually serve, in my case 4 years and a top secret clearance and to have Trump flaunt all that with his treasonous remarks pissed off just about every veteran including me.
So tell me what branch of the military did you serve in? Or did you get out of it like your orange would be dictator with wink wink, 'Bone Spurs'?
@Mott-The-Hoople saidAha, so how does the narrative go in MAGA-ville?
sure, sure wildass…just gotta be that
He was there with his campaign crew and a photographer just to pay his respects to 13 veeery specific soldiers who he happens to talk about a lot on the campaign to bash his opponents. While he was there, all his political social media minions were tweeting non-stop about how Kamala wasn't there. Honor and remembrance, nothing more.
@wildgrass saidTrump hardly ever went when the bodies of service members were returned to Dover AFB when he was President:

"According to a HuffPost review of Air Force records, there have been 96 “dignified transfers,” as the military refers to them, at Dover since the start of Trump’s presidency, which saw the return of 127 Americans killed overseas. Trump has been there for four of the transfers, which brought home the bodies of nine soldiers."

Of course, he lied about that, too:
"Trump, nevertheless, during an Aug. 18 news conference claimed he had been to enough “dignified transfer” ceremonies in his three years in office to be present for the return of “many” soldiers. “I greet men and women coming home, and coming home after they’ve been hit. I’ve also greeted many, many at Dover — greeted many bodies coming back in,” he said."
@wildgrass saidTrump was INVITED there by one of the DEAD SOLDIERS mother…biden was vacationing on the beach

so now you say biden knows more about our military than they know about themselves?
😂
biden is a hell of a dude I tell ya
@Mott-The-Hoople saidThe photography was illegal. Law says you can't go to Arlington cemetery and use a dead soldiers body as a photo background for a campaign prop. The campaign knew this and did it anyway.

There are 400,000 soldiers buried there. Have some respect.
