@techsouth saidActually, both your sentences can be true. If Trump were to take hydroxychloroquine, or any other medication, contrary to medical advice, then he might be seen to qualify as an idiot. This wouldn't contradict the second sentence since inadvertently doing the right thing, if it indeed is the right thing, is within the purview of idiots.
I can't read your mind, but can I suggest that perhaps your assessment is clouded by a hatred of Trump? Approved specifically or not, doctors are free to prescribe drugs for "off-label" purposes. "Off-label" use of drugs is not new. And HC has been around a while, so the potential side effects for short term and long term use ought to be well understood.
Here are two ...[text shortened]... e of a Trump expressed optimism for HC. That's a silly narrative being spoon fed by the media also.
Secondly, you've neglected the possibility that 30% of doctors are idiots for thinking they should prescribe an unapproved medicine where there's little evidence of anything but harms in a case where they lack evidence of the presence of a disease which for most of the population has a fatality rate of less than 1% in any case.
Are you sure about the statistic for that second sentence it seems unlikely to me.
I'm just playing games with logic. If Trump is taking HQ I'm sure it's on medical advice and based on an elevated risk of infection as well as his age implying worse outcomes. However, given that he has financial interests in HQ and a pragmatic attitude to the truth I wonder if he's taking it at all.

@Duchess64 So why would Bolsonaro allow his government to act contrary to his propaganda?
He's not a dictator.
@Earl-of-Trumps
Clearly you don't care about the warnings about side effects, like oh, say, DEATH. Or heart problems. All you do is parrot your god king and whatever he wants to do is quite ok with you.
@deepthought saidFrom a pure logic perspective, little is provable nor unprovable. I concede that by pure logic and logic alone, yes 30% of all doctors could not only be wrong, but actually be idiots and that the rest of the population smart enough to know that 30% of doctors are idiots and even know which 30% are idiots.

But, if you need to presume that 30% of doctors are idiots in order to have the minimum supporting evidence that Trump is therefore an idiot, then I contend that not only do you not have a case, but you are in danger of being the weak minded one.
Also, the following assertion has bleed into your "logic": there's little evidence of anything but harms in a case where they lack evidence of the presence of a disease which for most of the population has a fatality rate of less than 1% in any case.
Believe it or not, even now there are more details about this that can be reasonably known than would be reported on CNN or Fox News.
I'm not saying I know these things, but well connected insiders who are following this subject clearly are going to know more than you or I. That is how the world works. I'm not the one accusing anyone of being an idiot, so I don't have to know all the answers.
If you accuse Trump of being an idiot, you imply that your knowledge is sufficient to make that judgement, which means you are confident that there is no relevant information available to Trump's doctor that you lack even in this field where new information being gathered day by day. That is an incredibly far reaching claim. I am making no such claims, so I don't have to defend that my knowledge is totally complete. I am merely saying the average person doesn't have enough information to judge (and there is no chance CNN cares enough to seek out actual information that might vindicate Trump).
And you say the mortality rate is less than 1%. Interestingly, Trump has lambasted for saying the EXACT SAME THING just a few months ago (https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2020/03/05/coronavirus-trump-disputes-world-health-organization-death-rate/4961519002/). Yeah, he's an idiot because he says the death rate is less than 1%. But now you say the death rate is less than 1% as part of a scholarly critique of Trump. Don't you see that this is TDS?
Even you observed that Trump would be at an elevated risk based on his age and weight. Then why even mention 1%? That number is irrelevant to Trump's risk management decision true. It would appear that people in their 70s have an 8% chance of dying if diagnosed with CV. You make that mistake and then assert that Trump is an idiot?
And Trump's financial interest in Sanofi, as last reported, was $1500. If there stock doubles, Trump can make $1500. Yet he donates 100% of his presidential salary of $400,000 per year. Are you sure the facts support your contention that Trump is touting HC for financial gain? That also seems like TDS.
@sonhouse saidI could care LESS what Trump decides to do for his own health. He's at a risky age. Let him risk his health as he sees fit. OH but wait! You're a liberally hater. And anything Trump decides is wrong!!!

Just as an aside, jackass, I don't have god king.

@sonhouse saidThat narcissist Cuomo brother has been taking the drug. Please tell your readers why you don’t mention that, but you mention President Trump a lot. Do you love Trump?
