@Soothfast saidSo the concept of a leader escapes you? That would be a good thread.
Normal people don't generally surrender their capacity to think for themselves and invest all their hopes and dreams in a Dear Leader. Just so you know.
@Soothfast saidAgain, this is a great example of no clue about 'the oil world'. OPEC? Oil? Iran? Europe? Oil? Russia? Germany? China? It is a game, little feller. Like chess.
Russia is a major oil producer. You can't "starve out" Putin the way you fancy.
We will wait and see.
@AverageJoe1 saidThe problems of the nation cannot be fixed by one strongman and his cronies and relatives. That's what a dictator does: micromanage nearly everything, and leave what's left to loyalists who swear fealty only to him instead of the law or the people. Trump is in the process of constructing a dictatorial hierarchy full of nuts, criminals, drunkards, losers, and louts. Those are the only kind of people he can attract.
So the concept of a leader escapes you? That would be a good thread.
A real leader doesn't need to rule by fear and chaos, as your Messiah does. He attracts competent, earnest experts in their field, and gives them latitude to carry out policy as they see fit. Trump can't manage that. Everyone who's ever worked for him seems to hate his guts, and that's a big reason why his first term was a total failure. This time will be worse, because no one is going to give him the benefit of the doubt anymore.

I'm not sure how I can be plainer. You said:
I'm hearing he [Trump] will use OPEC to starve out Putin who will have no recourse but to stop the Ukraine nightmare. No oil for Putin.
Well, Russia is an oil exporter. You can't cut off oil going into an oil exporter, because there is none. Oil goes out of an oil exporting country.
How can you be this stupid and still breathe?
@Mott-The-Hoople saidThat's a technical issue. Loopholes can be closed, deductions taken away. What is true is that, even after deductions and whatnot, the effective tax rate in Eisenhower's time was much higher than today. If none of it mattered, why would the wealthy be constantly lobbying to reduce the tax rate?
only a fool thinks people paid a 90% tax rate. Deductions and loop holes are used as a slight of hand to fool the gullible.
But again, when did you become converted to the virtues of taxation? And why do you give billionaires like Musk a free ride? You're playing the role of the chump. Elon thanks you.
@AverageJoe1 saidIf you're gibbering (as is your way) about cutting off Russia's oil markets, that ship has sailed. It's not really doing much to hurt Putin.

@AverageJoe1 saidWhat would make you think that I was anybody but who I am, which is not Sonhouse but GBS. Are you Mott- the- Hopscotch? What does drilling for oil have to do with finding workers to do the low paying jobs that will need filling? Not sure what your expertise is but it can’t be economics or business. Let’s see where this goes but where I you ( thankfully not) I wouldn’t count my chickens…. Hey I may start a “let’s make the USA our 11th province” campaign, with Premiere Trump it’s leader.🤔👍
Are you Sonhouse? You predict, what, higher prices? Well, let us wait and see, we will test the Trump Theory, ....that, when he drills for oil and spreads it around, (truckers, manufacturers, you get the picture) teh cost of just about everything will drop. Let us see. You vs Trump.
I'm hearing he will use OPEC to starve out Putin who will have no recourse but to ...[text shortened]... e man a few more hundred hours. Hey, will y'all let him play golf, he has been working his ass off.

@Soothfast saidGracious. Until you fellers settle down and shed the TDS, it is difficult to field all of your barrages about Trump. We are watching for his accomplishments to shine, and how you will find fault with them. And you will. Unfortunately, you found NOT ONE negative about Biden. How will it be feasible that you will find fault with Trump.................who will do more than Biden ever did in his sleepy life. And Trump will not embarrass you as did Biden.

Ha, are y'all still saying dictator? No one else does.

@Soothfast saidA small primer for you fellers. It will be a bigger primer. Trump is big, you see.
I'm not sure how I can be plainer. You said:I'm hearing he [Trump] will use OPEC to starve out Putin who will have no recourse but to stop the Ukraine nightmare. No oil for Putin.

But President Trump has indicated two key ideas that would help this program. The first is an enthusiasm to sell more US energy products abroad (with threats to apply tariffs to European allies who fail to do so) and second is that Russia will face more sanctions if it refuses to end its war against Ukraine.
The geopolitical stakes are very considerable. Losing India as a major oil customer would force Russia to find alternative buyers, likely at even steeper discounts, further eroding its revenue margins. This could compel Moscow to deepen its energy ties with China, which already imports 1.9 million bpd of Russian crude – a volume that is set to decline, however, given the breakneck pace of electric vehicle sales in China. Russia might turn to other emerging markets, such as Africa and Southeast Asia, although these regions lack the scale to meet India’s demand.
There is more, this just given to you to familiarize yourself with the players.

@Soothfast saidThis is one of the most elementary posts I have ever seen. You may as well say, why does Wednesday come after Tuesday?

I have a question.....why do you people fret over the money of other people? Not meaning to get personal, maybe you can answer for someone else, tell us it what THEY have a problem with. Yeah, that's it. Go find out why they are so into the busness of another person, which is none of their business. You may even wonder what the answer is yourself.
PS: If they go socialist on you and say we should get that money from the rich, you need not write back,,,,,it is just so much air.
@Soothfast saidHaving asumed you all knolw something about the oil markets, I admit now that my generalizing about 'starving' the oil was wrong, my apologies. The oil market is a huge game, and Trump, unlike his bumbling mumbling predecessor, knows a LOT about it, and will use the oil process to our advantage and kick ass. He can manipulate like no other, you see. It will entail the buying and selling of all countries, in a way that has a negative effect on the murderous Russian, and cause them to fold their tents and go home.
If you're gibbering (as is your way) about cutting off Russia's oil markets, that ship has sailed. It's not really doing much to hurt Putin.
Gotta have oil, you know.
We will just see if it works. Do you think it will NOT work? Please vote, I will keep a tally.
@Soothfast saidIn other words, America will suffer because Farmers will refuse to pay gringos a fair wage. Farmers do not even have to pay minimum wage. These illegal immigrants are just working jobs Americans do not want.....because they don't want a job that pays less than minimum wage!
Ruh-roh! There are going to be empty store shelves and skyrocketing grocery prices soon, and much faster than I had guessed a couple months ago.

Pay people a fair wage and people will show up. You are condoning economic slavery. Illegal aliens are easier to exploit. No business passes all profits to the consumer, they pocket as much for themselves as possible first. Only competition keeps consumer prices lower. What you support is competition to exploit illegal immigrants. That is what keeps your produce prices low.
@AverageJoe1 saidThe oil will be sold on the international market making oil prices low for the whole world. How about banning the export of oil to keep national prices low?

Trump always said America first, not the world first.
