Eggs are what humans have harvested and eaten for the past 50,000 years. They are a means of survival. Nothing more. Certainly not less.

To partake of protein of other animals is why we are. It is how we became. It is what we are.

Not proud of that. Not ashamed. Just aware.

So dont be ashamed of that. But consciously realize you are destoying life that can't compete with you or me.

Realize what you are. Then decide the morality of it.

Can you show mercy to 'dumb' animals... respect them and still eat them?

Work it out. It is a hell of an ethical problem.

But doable.

With reason and the ability to not deny your heritage and your future.

And the ability to see starvation for want of protein.

And the ability to see that almost a million people die every day for lack of same.

😳

I don't recall ever meeting a healthy-looking vegetarian who didn't pop loads of vitamin/mineral supplements.
Many vitamins come from plants that we are unable to digest.
Herbivorous animals absorb the vitamins when they eat, and we absorb the vitamins by eating the herbivores.
Which is more natural, a bucket of pills and a tofu burger or a tender T-bone steak, barbecued to perfection?

C'est le ton qui fait la musique....

Which is more natural, a vegetarian meal from your home grown vegetables or an industrial processed cadaver that you roast in your garden (to the delight of your neighbours)?

There are two sorts of vegetarians, as far as I can tell.

Type 1: Doesn't eat animals because the thought is disgusting
Type 2: Doesn't eat animals because of pity for the animals.

A long time ago I catagorised the problem as:

They don't want me to eat cows, because they feel sorry for the poor animals.
I don't want them nagging at me for eating cows.

So I came to the conclusion: Let's eat the vegetarians.
This way the cows don't need to be eaten (so the vegetarians are happy), I don't have to listen to vegetarians whining all day (I'm happy) and I still get to eat meat (me and the cows are happy).

So the vegetarians are happy, the cows are happy and I'm happy.

I buy my steak from a butcher whose family owns a farm. He rears, kills and butchers the the meat himself. When I eat one of his steaks, I know it was attached to a bullock in the field next to my kids school the previous day.
I love garden vegetables. They make the perfect garnish for the steak.😉

LOL. Eet smakelijk!

But your analysis is hopeless incomplete.

I am (also) vegetarian because
1. I prefer to eat stuff that is low in the chain of evolution
2. It helps to solve the shortage of food in the world
3. It is healthier
4. It is tastier
5. It is cheaper

The problem with eating bush is that it has a slightly sexual ring to it (bush being the pornographic word for pubic hair).

And the last thing I want to do is think of him whilst I'm thinking about sex!

So, there you go. From vegetarianism, through cannablism to sex.
It's madness I tells ya, utter madness!

I don't buy or cook meat, but if someone else cooks me a meal with meat in it, I will eat it. The same goes for broad beans, I won't buy or cook them myself, but it would be rude to refuse a meal.
