@no1marauder saidThis one has the data I wanted...
Then it is poorly designed; the real world data in the US has a far higher % of hospitalizations.
Among patients who developed severe disease, the medium time to dyspnea ranged from 5 to 8 days, the median time to acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) ranged from 8 to 12 days, and the median time to ICU admission ranged from 10 to 12 days.5,6,10,11 Clinicians should be aware of the potential for some patients to rapidly deteriorate one week after illness onset. Among all hospitalized patients, a range of 26% to 32% of patients were admitted to the ICU.6,8,11 Among all patients, a range of 3% to 17% developed ARDS compared to a range of 20% to 42% for hospitalized patients and 67% to 85% for patients admitted to the ICU.1,4-6,8,11 Mortality among patients admitted to the ICU ranges from 39% to 72% depending on the study.5,8,10,11 The median length of hospitalization among survivors was 10 to 13 days.1,6,8
@Eladar
So the bottom line is Trump can do no wrong and it is perfectly ok to pass out deals to his buddies and deny the same to his enemies. Just normal business in DC, eh.
It doesn't matter to you in the slightest people WILL die without ventilators.
If that isn't corruption I don't know the meaning of the word. Just one more to add to his list of many corruption issues. And you think he is a god king.
Come November WE WILL remember.
@sonhouse saidThe bottom line is that Trump has done wrong. You throw things against the wall and see what sticks.

Yeah, it's safe for you morally to refer to them as NUMBERS. Hint: They are PEOPLE not numbers. But to you, another notch on the evil cane, they are PEOPLE? I didn't realize...…
Your empathy is just OOZING out all over. Must be a thrill for you to be so empathic.
@sonhouse saidGiving 100 when they asked for 500 is not a deal. Its a "here - quit your whining - we are saving these for States that might actually need them"

@joe-shmo
So now YOU are the judge of who needs what. Why don't you tell that to the Governor of Colorado then. He will be happy to know they were totally mistaken.
Another example of right wing empathy.
So telling FEMA to squash the deal after Trump said it was up to each state to buy what it wants, so strangely enough, the states thought that was the real deal.
Well they were mistaken weren't they?
So now it is ok by YOU for your god king to play politics with people's lives.
You get vents if I like you, if not FUK OFF ASSSHOLE. GREAT way to govern.
Sure, let each state try to outbid the others for PPE and vents unless FEMA directed by your god king decides your party is the wrong party to expect ANY help from your corrupt leader.
@sonhouse saidThe question is need for extra ventilators, there is no need in Colorado.
@Eladar

The models used to project the need, like global warming models of the 1990s, have proven false.
@Eladar
Like I said, since you are THE expert and know everything and have SUCH exceptional empathy for those who have died, you should IMMEDIATELY write a letter to the Colorado governor explaining to HIM why they don't need those vents.
You would be doing SUCH a public service.
There must have been this phone call, a PERFECT call, Trump goes, that assswipe democrat wants 500 vents, SCREW them.
Then they get a call from the republican senator,
Ok, we can send you 100 but ONLY because it was YOU who asked.
Nothing at ALL wrong with that, right?
@sonhouse saidSonhouse, your coming unhinged.

And you can't see reality for what it is. TRUMP IS CORRUPT and as corrupt as they come.
The fact he is your god king just proves how blind you are to his corruption. He is not a leader, he is a fukking BULLY and does good to his friends (Make that REPUBLICANS) and SCREW democrats for ANYTHING and that includes his evil buddy Moscow Mitch.
WE WILL REMEMBER. ALL OF IT.
Do you think we are going to forget them making rules to deny a BUNCH of folks unemployment?
Do you think we are going to forget Trump mewling about how he will make sure pre-existing conditions will not stop you from health insurance, while at the same time going to court to COMPLETELY kill ACA?
WE FUKKING WILL remember come November. ALL of it.
@no1marauder saidThe rate of increase in cumulative hospitalizations for Colorado is tending to zero. Its not arguable, its a fact.
No, 331 in a week isn't "approaching zero".
61 deaths in that week isn't "zero", either.
It does seem that Colorado's social distancing measures taken in late March have succeeded in slowing the spread of the virus. However, they still have over 6,000 active cases and going by the experience of NY (25% hospitalizations; 1/3 of those to the ICU), that means about 500 ...[text shortened]... ing to get more ventilators and not just crossing their fingers and hoping the problem will go away.
@sonhouse saidWhy should I write? I am just watching things and calling it as I see it.

I am both amused and disturbed by the number of brainless serfs we have on this site.
@Eladar
You got THAT one right. You could care less about the lives lost, just another number.
And the way you see it, NOTHING bad can come out of Trump. ONLY good. He is your god king and that is that.
So choke on it, we will kick his sorry ugly ass out in November.
