@eladar saidIt says clearly "office hours".
That is for drivers ed, not for the office. Or does that office only offer drivers ed courses?
In anycase, you are talking about a city of fewer than 600 people.
Texas is reaching out to those areas, so they do not need to make a great effort.

Nice try, but pulling very s ...[text shortened]... see, Texas has taken steps to make sure people who live out there have an opportunity to get an ID.
@eladar saidNo, it doesn't - you're making that up.
For drivers ed.
"Ready to head into the DPS office? Check the location and hours, and schedule an appointment if you need one."

@no1marauder saidAs I pointed out, the state of Texas recognized that people may need other days, which is why they had a special ID unit sent there.

You know, for those 500 people who could not survive if they did not leave their town for food.
@eladar saidI'm not wasting my time further with this; your assertion that a town would have no access to food without driving 160 miles is moronic.

Obviously, AFTER the report I cited was published, Texas opened a few satellite offices of the DPS in these areas while leaving them open only for a pathetic period of time per month.
@no1marauder saidIf you know the day it is open, you can go down there and get an ID.

With an area of less than 600 total people, how much of a line do you think a person will need to wait in?
Fact is, getting an ID, if you want one, can be done very easily and they need not travel a long distance to get one. You present a lie as if it were true Never would a person have been required to go any further than the closest DPS.
@eladar saidReally, GFY with these ridiculous "lying" charges.

I presented a report supporting my claim.
Your and Mott's posts just establish that Texas isn't making these IDs centers very accessible particularly when you consider they have to fulfill all the tasks necessary for giving and renewing driver licenses and other documents.
Virtually no IDs have been obtained at Texas DPS offices due to the inconvenience. This is just what right wingers like you and Mott want.
And again, this is all just a red herring - even in the 36 States with Voter ID laws, right wingers refuse to accept the results of the election if they are contrary to their desires.
@Earl-of-Trumps
Stacy Abrams is okay with voter ID. I want photo ID's to be easily accessible No everyone has or needs a driver's license. Many have jobs that do not allow them to take off to get a voter ID. This is where the GOP will try to disenfranchise people. They will make it as difficult as possible to get a "valid" ID.

@eladar saidNo, I didn't. I relied on this report which was published in May 2017:
You said they have to travel over 100 miles to get an ID. You knew that they did not.
https://www.aclu.org/other/oppose-voter-id-legislation-fact-sheet
It stated: "The travel required is often a major burden on people with disabilities, the elderly, or those in rural areas without access to a car or public transportation. In Texas, some people in rural areas must travel approximately 170 miles to reach the nearest ID office."
It cited as a source for this claim: Richard Sobel, The High Cost of ‘Free’ Photo Voter Identification Cards(Cambridge: Charles Hamilton Houston Institute for Race and Justice at Harvard Law School, 2014 at p. 21
If you had any common decency, you'd apologize.
