That's because, despite what Fox News is telling them, critical race theory — the
actual academic framework that was developed in law schools to understand the
historical reasons our legal system perpetuates racial inequalities — is NOT, in fact, being taught to 3rd graders or even 11th graders.

Teaching critical race theory to primary and secondary school students seems like a reasonable idea to me. As a former Real Estate broker and landlord, we were required to have a basic understanding of legal principles of redlining and steering with regard to lending practices, and the closing of transactions. Students could only benefit from this knowledge, just as they could benefit from a more complete understanding of the basics of civics, so I don't understand why there is such resistance to this.

It's okay, only racist white people with an aversion to the truth are against this.

I simply have an aversion to the government preaching racism, both white over black and black over white.

Instead of making excuses as to why black people score so poorly in academic achievement, perhaps people would do better to ensure everyone has a classroom where education is possible. In other words, do something about kids who are destroying the educational opportunity of others. It also means convincing kids that it is more important to learn the material than to simply copy and turn in papers.

This is the fight if you are interested in providing a better future for all.

But no, all we get is false narative blaming white people the failure of black people.

Every white person who actually believe critical race theory needs to take the blame personally and try to make changes, but it will never change your skin color so no matter what you do you are to blame.

Come on, our class read Huck Finn, and it was explained to us (as well as being obvious in the text) that Twain used examples of the prevailing attitudes of the times to make his point. And this was second-year high school.

Of course, this might be different now, given the Republican-controlled degradation in our education system.

As far as teaching CRT goes, I think they can start by not leaving out important details of history (like the 1921 Tulsa Black Wall Street massacre) and actually teaching real history, instead of a whitewashed version of it (like the Battle of the Alamo in 1836). The place for this is in high school, where students are beginning to understand how the world works.

I do not deny that there are racists. There are racists of every color.

As I said, the question is not if there was racism in the past. The question is if it is happening today and if it is then let us see the exact example not simply numbers.

If you want to look at lack of academic achievement, just look at College Entrance Exam scores, the problem is fixing the culture of failure so prevalent among underachieving schools.

Like Tom Hanks (who recently wrote an article in the New York Times about this), I went all the way through school, and even through college, without once ever hearing about the 1921 Tulsa Black Wall Street massacre. Like him, the first I heard about it was about a few months ago. I was shocked that I had never heard of this before now, despite the numerous US History clas ...[text shortened]... than this, and it's well past time that we take positive steps to abandon this widespread ignorance.
I think all these social problems are created and dug up and thrown out there for one purpose......to divert attention from what is going on in the Socialist party, to divert attention from what Bernie is up to.
It is taking away a lot of energy of conservatives and republicans, as we become amazed with the race theory thing. Meanwhile, you are cooking your brew. Some of it,like the open border, to get more dems on the rolls, is right before our eyes.
The lib powers that be could not care less about Critical Race Theory, it is nothing to them.

As always, you redefine things in your own racist ways. As always you believe everyone must bow down to your opinion. As always, you are wrong.

But do YOU know what YOU are doing? You are shining a light on this whole thing as if it is a big deal, which it was not, until people like you had brought it to the fore.

Our children today do not differentiate about color like adults do. A white child looks at a brown child and a brown shall looks at a white child in the same way..

Our children do not see color. But you pitiful adults are trying to make them see color, that is a travesty.
