@Suzianne said"What about using that money to hire better teachers, spend money on the syllabus, actually increasing the quality of the black schools? No, can't have that, said the white schools."
Bull.
First, he was talking about anybody's kid, not just his.
Second, he wasn't against desegregation, he was against busing. (No, they're not the same, moron.)
Busing was the easy way out for the school districts against desegregation in the first place. What about using that money to hire better teachers, spend money on the syllabus, actually increasing the qua ...[text shortened]... y of the black schools? No, can't have that, said the white schools.
Stop gaslighting everybody.
Stop lying! The white schools do not control funding, congress does! It was Biden and his segregationist buddies in congress who refused to increase the quality of black schools. If they had increased the funding to those schools they could have ended busing. Black schools still get less funding. Guess Obama and Biden didn't care.

@shavixmir saidYou ask for a response about semantics. Are you attempting to segue to another issue…..semantics, and words….what did he mean? Whew
Do you oppose Biden’s stance on busing?
Or his claim that busing will lead to rising tensions (so desegration by means of busing will lead to tension, rather than the wanted outcome)?
Or do you oppose his using the term: racial jungle?
Taking all that Biden said, at face value given the atmosphere at the time he said them, he was for segregation. End of my post. Whew.
Let us learn that Shav’s conclusions do not take into account what societal upheavals were going on at the time So, his post does not ‘close’. It leads McHill, et al, off on a tangent.
@Metal-Brain saidBecause they were lulled into thinking that bussing solved the problem.

@Suzianne saidRacial Jungle Joe didn't want to solve the problem. That is why he sided with open segregationists to end busing without making black schools better.
