Are there some possible extreme circumstances where I might be compelled to kill a child to save others? Yes, i ...[text shortened]... ou press Darfius in to reciprocating. I'm interested in hearing
his answer myself.

Darfius has no obligation to answer the question since it is a known trick question. This has been explained in the forums before.
I'm surprised to see you Nemesio supporting No1 in his fruitless efforts.
Originally posted by ivanhoeIn what way is it a "trick" question? Darfius has asserted that it was alright to slaughter the Midianite children according to his philosophy because they were "evil" or would have grown up to "hate the Jews" (wonder why). Why isn't it perfectly relevant to ask him if he would PERSONALLY act on his religious beliefs if he was in the same situation?

By the way what hypocrisy are you referring too ? As everyone knows I do not read Darfius's posts. I reacted to the pressure being put on Darfius by No1 and Nemesio to answer a trick question.

By the way, you still haven't answered the serious question, not a trick question, I asked you : What do you mean if you're talking about "But if" theology ? .... I never received an answer despite your promises and despite my repeated requests to do so.
Originally posted by ivanhoeBesides your general level of hypocrisy in three posts not more than two pages ago in THIS VERY THREAD you insisted that I answer a similar question posed by Flexmore (which I did).

i ask in direct relation to you question of darfius.
could you kill children, to best serve that which you deem most sacred?
in darfius' case i unsurely and unfairly assume that god's word is most sacred.
in your case, i assume (also unsurely and unfairly) that it is your children.
Answer:
No.

No1, what question was that ?
Flexmore (page 10): especially for you ... what are the most borderline limits at which you could justify killing/murdering a child?
ME (page 11): Are there some possible extreme circumstances where I might be compelled to kill a child to save others? Yes, it's conceivable
YOU (page 11; apparently you didn't read my answer): No1: "I would have no difficulty answering such a question, ... "
Then why don't you answer Flexmore's question ?
YOU (page 11): EDIT II: Now you answer Flexmore's question, you brave man
Well, those are only two posts, but still that makes you a complete and utter hypocrite (again) doesn't it, Ivanhoe?

All right then, brave man.
Are you willing to fight and eventually kill in order to defend the Jewish people from being attacked and threatened in their present existence ?
Originally posted by ivanhoeSorry, Ivanhoe, I don't think it's a trick question. It's a kind of "thought experiment." There are several possible anwers:

1) The God I believe would never ask me to do that.
2) God tested Abraham, and Abraham failed the test by being willing to sacrifice his son Isaac (a Jewish interpretation of the story I picked up from somewhere).
3) Yes, if I really thought that was God's command.
4) No, under any circumstances.
5) Yes, if killing someone else's innocent child was necessary to save my innocent child.
6) etc.....
My answer, BTW, is No. 4, but I'm frankly not sure about No. 5 (after all, I'm only human....) I think it's helpful for us to ask ourselves those kinds of questions; I don't have a problem with someone else asking it for me.
