Robbed a freakin bank!! The courts need to prosecute this indivdual as an adult. There are consequences to your actions. When will this nonsense stop? Never, if these kids think all that will happen is "slap on the wrist." This guy need jail time; and anyone who plans to commit a crime.

You would prefer to see this kid go free without real punishment. Oh yes, we must insist on counselling (rolling eyes). Then, when the doctors declare him rehabilitated - surprise he might actually pull the trigger.
According to whom?
Originally posted by MrMartinI would like to see this kid punished, just not sent to prison. Do you know how much it costs the government per prisoner per year? Incarceration is not cost-efficient and not an effective way to deter crime. Also, it often has detrimental effects. For one, it teaches people how to become better criminals. Yes, we should counsel, especially for someone that age. Crime peeks at teenage years and most kids grow out of it. There is a higher chance he would "pull the trigger" if he spent time in prison.

There is a reason for the difference between a youth and an adult. Now its not time to take revenge but to bring somebody into an adulthood in which he will preponder his actions and take the full responsability.
A question to be asked yould be: Who did educate that young man anyway? And what of their (and I presume them to be adults) responsability?
Not to talk about the responsability of the society in which guns are readily available for anybody (and do these adults, who legally own the weapons and claim their constitutional right to do so, act up to THEIR responsability?)
This article does not contain enough information to make an adult informed decision. Thank you for sharing.

Everyone knows what to do in that situation - whatever the person says. How many bank tellers you know that get shot in the face point blank, or act difficult with the robbers? None. They do what they say and that's it.
teller was victim of a hold up. Did you read the story? Kid had a gun 🙄
Calling the teller a victim is an insult to victims of real violence all around the world. And calling for the kid's head over a threat of violence is quite different from actually being violent.
