Maybe so. More importantly, when you are officially sainted, a wider congregation will more easily believe when you talk about porn.

As FMF’s lawyer I can step in and say that FMF in no way supports threads designed to generate genuine compliments from and to all or any posters.

These type of feel-good threads, when started by a non-clique member, are a hotbed of vitriol and their success in driving well meant compliments can invite temptation to utilise an abuse of the post-alert system, bringing an unsustainable level of carnage to the lives of the forum moderation team.

FMF does not support compliment threads.

The thread was deleted, taken down due to an abuse of post alert system. I suspect this was done out of spite by a small group of small-minded individuals who simply couldn’t cope with me driving a sincere and well meant thread in which they struggled to post.

Your name was just entering the field of view and I for one would have been complimenting you not just of the incision, wit and brevity of your posting, but also the longevity and consistency of your efforts. A further compliment would be that you never indulge in partisan posting but hold your counsel and keep your judgmental powder very dry.

It’s not a big deal, nothing is ever a big deal to you. But I’m liking your interest in a thread which I was particularly proud of in terms the idea and my own posting in it. It is a disappointment that it was removed.

The moderator was understanding of the impact in removing it but was generous enough to explain to me in a PM why they had to. The forum is worse off without threads like that in my opinion.
