Yes, because a philosophy major will have so many job opportunities.....
I'm actually curious now, what did all of you guys major in?
Business Administration would be alot better.
Or, if you want to earn Big money become a Heavy Equipment Operator......self employed of course.
College is a rip off, and you'll be stuck with student loans for the rest of your life. Become self employed and get a 6 -8 year headstart on all the schmucks.

I plan on getting my doctorate, hence the decision to save money now...

Hopefully I'll get the best of both worlds (education in a field I enjoy, plus lots of money) by doing it this way. I definitely want to get a doctorate, it's just going be a lot of time and money.

If he did what you say he would be a Special Ed. Major, not a Psych Major, and Special Ed teachers are a dime a dozen and all he will be doing is baby sitting trouble makers who get thrown into Special Ed. classes. But it certainly pays better than other teachers. Ah, my dreams were not squashed. I have made a damn good living being a self employed business owner. I know about the college scam many students run into. I know from my own experiences and that of my daughter.

Anyhow, I DO plan on making enough money to live more than happily. My parents think psychiatry is a good option, IDK yet...I'll figure it all out eventually.

I am NOT going into special ed., I don't want to and I never did. My interest has ALWAYS been in psychiatry.
You can continue that debate for your own personal reasons and beliefs, but it won't go anywhere good and neither of you will change your stance, so keep me out of it. Danke.
