It's refreshing that you are not like those snobby subs.
They know who they are.

Bit of a stretch to call Groundhog Day a romantic film.
Originally posted by @great-king-ratYes, this is a fair point. I felt a bit iffy about including it on my list but I couldn't remember why. It was a good script (and a good performance from Helen Hunt) otherwise.
As Good As It Gets could have gotten a lot better if they'd ended up as friends, NOT lovers. I hate the ending of that one.
Originally posted by @divegeesterIn term of story line, Casablanca is pretty weak: two people come into a cafe and they leave next morning on a plane. The movie lives from the snappy dialog and the stellar cast.
I watched it (Casablanca) once out of curiosity and was very underwhelmed. I'd probably put 'When Harry Met Sally' before that as I've watch it several times and I always enjoyed Billy Crystal's class performance. Not a fan of Meg Ryan though.

To RHP General Forum members:
Watch this movie, An Officer and a Gentleman.
Then....report back to this thread, and thank me for the suggestion.
Hey Dive, this movie counts as romance. Maybe you will stop being unromantic to your wife, watch this movie with her, then thank me later. ๐
People are impressed by different films as has been pointed out previuosly. To insist on having found THE MOVIE is not really evoking sympathy...but repeated several times it could come overas obnoxious....
Best war film: Hunde wollt ihr ewig leben?
english: The bridge on the river Kwai

I think you're making that up, possibly because you don't like me?
How rude.
