She has some talent, and Snowy sounds much better in my humble opinion.

When do you guys count the end of Christmas time?

6th of January (as is customary in modern Germany)
2nd of February (40 days with the relevant rites in Judaism)

Any other? (Then we change back our avatras I presume)

To me Christmas is generally over on Boxing day, no later than New Year. So my avatar has been changed back to normal.

I’d say there are a number of options Ponderable:

- midnight on Friday Jan 5th which is the 12th day of Christmas
- midnight 27th December which is when Boxing Day ends
- anytime in between

Further options include
- avatar changes along the way and up to any of the above options
- move to a New Year avatar at some point but probably not before December 30th, ideally December 31st

I agree with this, however I find keeping a Christmas avatar of some sort during the betwixt period helps me manage the emotional unease of not quite knowing how to feel during those days. It also provides balance with keeping the Christmas decorations up which, if I followed your more stricter interpretation, would have to come down on the 27th. You haven’t taken your Christmas tree down have you?

I have no Christmas tree, no decorations. What I have is two 'electric Advent candlesticks', hyacinths, 'mini-bulb strand'(?) and some decorations and ivy on the balcony. The Christmas feeling is long gone. I keep what I think is beautiful.

For as long as seasonal guests linger.

When I was young, Christmas was delineated by the bumper 2-week issues of the Radio Times and the TV Times.

The Episcopal Church of America has a feast day on Jan. 6th, Epiphany, and so that has always been the end of Christmas celebration for me.

My wife still buys the 2 week edition at Christmas; she enjoys going through it with a highlighter pen marking out all the TV she wants to watch.

Even through you don’t recognise the time of year as being the birth of Christ?

Do you have any atheists in your family? I bet you do.

Are they still your family even though you don't agree with them? I bet they are.

Gonna have to try harder than that to denigrate me. Way harder.

In my uncle's house, as I recall, he always said that it was Christmas every day. The spirit is what he meant, although I never got a chance to ask him. The spirit of goodwill towards your fellow man.

Anyone know of an appropriate avatar for representing this spirit? A holy spirit, which is invisible, but one can see the effects it causes.
