When these five men vanished in 1978, a sheriff described it as "bizarre as hell". Over 40 years later, it's still a mystery.

A similar thing happened 110 years later when mass hysteria spread through the GF sparked by a prank.

The way I learned that little factoid was from a US astronaut sitting in Skylab, from 270 miles high. The astronauts claimed
that the Great Wall of China was the only sign of intelligent life on earth that they could discern from their lofty perch.
Not too long after that, the Skylab astronauts claimed that they could see another sign of intelligent life, logs in a river in Canada.

Don't ask me why I remembered all that 🙂 And I didn't even know they had intelligent life in Canada

The Great Wall can be seen from orbit.

As the article states, however, it cannot be seen from the moon. At an average of 256,000 miles away, it's just too far to see anything man-made on the Earth.

Earl,
You asked for this one. I know someone from Canada who beat you in a game of chess. 🙂 😛

By all accounts, my ego can be seen from Jupiter.
