Other people do eat when they are stressed. The food is burnt as fuel but since so much fuel is being added the body can't process all of it and it becomes fat. Food is like a drug - it can cause ...[text shortened]... ful than any drug which will always make you feel happier - even if you are somewhat plump.
I'm like you. When I'm stressed I can't stand the sight of food. My tummy gets in knots and I literally can't eat anything. 🙁

I'll never understand the concept of comfort food. 😕

He created man in his own image, so everyone was running around looking identical, and living in harmony. It didn't take long before this got boring as hell.

So God decided to add a little variety to spice things up. He made some skinny, some fat, and some regular sized.

It took a little while but man finally ...[text shortened]... s and made them speak different languages.

That did the trick!

End of story....... 😀
And they all lived happily ever after.

Nice fairy tale, dude.

LOL, No, I don't think the "lived happily ever after" was a part of it.

On the BBC news this morning it said British scientists have identified a the hormone emitted in the body that tells the brain when the stomach is full. They reckon it 8 years it will available as chewing gum as a slimming aid which safely reduces the urge to eat

So there, figure that one out McGuyver!!

And I think you're wrong - I see fat people shoving their faces full of 99c double cheeseburgers at McDonalds all the time.
Maybe you need to get a better job than a food server at MacDonalds then.

If so many people in the world are overweight and/or obese then surely it is about time that the so called "average" person to be redefined.

However doing this would mean that some so called "average" people at present would be redesignated as underweight and they would not be happy with the stigma associated with being classed as such.

It would also mean that some so called "fat" people would be redesignated as average, meaning that those who were previously average would now have some people that they previously called fat associated with them which again would upset the so called previously average people.

What is fat? Is a 6 foot , 17 stone (238lbs) fit athlete to be classed the same as a 6 foot, 17 stone person who does no forms of activity other than walking round the shops at the weekend?

Do we redefine fat based on a person fitness?

Fat, skinny, average are just words, used by people to put people in specific boxes with no account taken of a person health and fitness ability.

Exactly.
But when you see someone who is fat (as opposed to, say the 30st World's Strongest Man), you know they are FAT!

For all you 'older folks' out there, you can still get in shape if you ...[text shortened]... g less food with carbohydrates & fat.

Slimming down does tend to make you more attractive.
I've got to disagree based on personal experience. In the summer I play tennis twice a week and I bicycle to work 4 days a week year round (with a few days off due to precipitation). That said, I'm 5'10" 195 lbs of which there is some muscle, but it's mostly fat around my belly. I like a beer in the evening and I love my carbs. If I could just resist this impulse to eat so much, I'm sure I could get back to being in shape.

I've always believed and sure I've heard the so called experts confirm that the most efficient way to loss weight is not to eat the calories in the first place. Ideally though the best way is too do both although sounds like you do enough exercise. Personally I put a few (about 12) pounds on in the last 9 months since we got our dog, normally someone would loss weight getting a dog I suppose, but I stopped running 4 times a week to make time to walk him, also about the same time we stopped going to restaurants so much as I started to get into cooking (larger portions crept in) and worse still I tend to drink a few glasses of wine while I am cooking. So I've set myself a 3 month target to loss that 12 pounds from last Tuesday by drinking less, eating less and now I take my dog for a jog 5 times a week in the mornings on top of his daily walk(s)

If we all lived happily ever after with our differences, we wouldn't have bored people criticising others for those very differences. No matter what a person's size, we all have feelings. What gives anyone the right to hurt the feelings of another because of the way they look, Big Nose?
