That's a shame that happens with the birds. Isn't there a market where the over kill can be sold or given to?
Not that I know of. With all the pheasants around this area the restaurants never serve any. There much be a law. Not all the hunters do that but we have heard about it. They are a delicious bird and make wonderful gravy. I cook them the way my mother used to fix chickens. Dredged in seasoned flour and fried half an hour, then placed into a roaster with cream poured on top and cooked in the oven an hour. Serve with mashed potatoes and that delicious cream gravy. Boiled frozen corn is about all you can hold as a side dish and goes better with it than any other kind of vegetable. The pheasants are all over the place right now finding food along the sides of the highways after all our frigid weather and snowstorms. Many died, of course and many are getting hit by vehicles now.
