you guys are playing Jar Jar Binks to No1's Palpatine.
No1 is too aggressive for this role. and if we absolutely MUST have game mods, we need people there who will argue devil's advocate for the accused.
Originally posted by RagnorakI would hope they would be able to give up at least a couple of hours per week, although I don't want to specify an exact figure. As we get more volunteers, the workload should be spread out a bit more than it is at present. However there's no point in anyone volunteering unless they are prerared to give up a substantial amount of their spare time.
What is "the necessary time and effort?" Are we talking a couple of hours a week/day?

but for this job my number 1 choice would be a player who is under 1700.
he loves chess - but is far too interested in the theory, especially of programming, to bother winning any particular individual game (i do not think he plays/programs on this site).
i think you should drop this condition - and instead demand that the person is fascinated by chess in a broader sense.
obviously having several very strong players is a very good idea - but not everyone needs to be this.

The game mods are still looking for volunteers to join their team. Anyone who is interested should put forward their names in private by PM to either myself or Phlabibit or send 'feedback' to the site admin (Russ and Chrismo).
The kind of people we need are:-
1) Strong players - preferably rated over 2000, but 1700 would be an acceptable minimum ...[text shortened]... of conditions. But it's absolutely essential that we find the right people.
Thanks,
Dave

Dfm65 a great game moderator ???????
It's more probable that England wins the next World Champinoships!
(soccer obviously)
Originally posted by ark13I agree that No1 is a good candidate. The only problem is that in every thread discussing cheats he has consistently disagreed with the current mods on just about everything i've read. That is hardly going to speed things up ,though i totally agree, he obviously cares about the problem enouph and would no doubt put an immense amount of effort into it, as he already does!
