No1 is too aggressive for this role. and if we absolutely MUST have game mods, we need people there who will argue devil's advocate for the accused.

You would be doing a much better service to RHP (which would be much appreciated), by puttings your differences with David Tebb aside, joined the game mods, and still continue to call for changes to the system, and try to get the number of mods to grow.
Ignore what Dfm65 says, because although some may feel that your frame of mind is wrong, but the analysis and knowledge that you could provide if you joined the mods, far outweighs the "problems" that some people see with your state of mind regards the mods.
I think you should join.
