Here in Ireland, there are a social class of women who think it is their god given right to drop sprogs left right and centre, and expect us to foot the bill. I honestly believe that if no proof of prior/current marriage can be given after two kids, then these brainless cabbages should be neutered in the name of crime prevention.
Ive worked since i was 15 and right up until i was due to drop my kids and i went back to work 1 month after i had them. All be it that it was part time but i have always worked. I cant stand sponging low life's that do nothing but shell out kids and expect others to pay for them!

After my 3rd was born I decided there was more money to be had providing child care than requiring it. And it's much more rewarding to be able to spend the time nurturing and being there for my baby while knowing that I'm providing another parent some piece of mind at the same time.

I live in the only debt free province in Canada. It didn't get to be that way by handing out tax dollars to freeloaders. A single mother here having to depend on welfare would soon find herself unable to provide even the basics. With every business in town advertising help wanted signs any person looking for a handout would be seriously laughed at.
The only drawback to providing child care is the longing for adult conversation from time to time. Playing tea party and tickle monster all day every day doesn't provide much of a challenge but it more than covers the cost of living. I manage quite well from it...even a luxurious trip to Disneyworld and the Bahamas for me and my kids.
As far as relying on child support....LOL! What a joke. They have very strict set amounts up here that aren't even worth cashing the cheques for. But it all adds up over time. Child support payments should be just that....support for the child. All of my kids will be able to go to university and even have money put away for their first car on the money that gets set aside for them each month.
Either way having another child is not somwething that will put me in the poor house. Or put anyone else in a position to have to support my family.
The stereotype that exists concerning single mothers is outdated and completely unwarranted. Mind you...I don't have any idea what it's like in less affluent parts of the world that still carry with it great stigma against single mothers. It's not that much of an issue here as it seems to be in other places.

Mind you...you still get the few hard core red necks with limited thinking abilities but nobody pays much attention to those sorts either.
