Rusty, we have the possibility of choosing whether to subscribe or not. Some of us do and some don't, for different reasons. I fail to see why one way would be better than the other - it's a personal choice.

It’s plausible that a person who is lonely, desperate to reach out to someone and motivated to do so, would choose a chess website which is not advertised on google as having a forum at all, to register, play no chess whatsoever, start a thread in the general forum and disappear?
