Humor: Who can tell
The differences in languages where identical words can mean totally different things can be fun - like 'dot' in English is 'prick' in Swedish, a VD in Swedish is Verkställande direktör (Managing Director), 'slut' in Swedish is 'end'.

People often fall victim to the naivety of failing to distinguish humor from seriousness, particularly in today's digital age where the line between jest and earnest can blur. This misunderstanding can lead to misinterpretations and conflicts, as humor is often used as a coping mechanism or a way to lighten the mood, while seriousness is intended to convey genuine emotions ...[text shortened]... g that humor is a form of communication that requires skill and sensitivity to navigate effectively.
@divegeester saidSo I’ve worked out how to link a thread into a post…. now where is the Thread ID hidden?
Quality!
PS learn how to post thread links Trev, jeez you’ve been here long enough.
Thread 198864
@drewnogal saidTap or click on the url bar when in the desired thread and the address is shown. Towards the end of the url address you will see a set of numbers, that is the “thread ID.
So I’ve worked out how to link a thread into a post…. now where is the Thread ID hidden?
However using the thread ID will always take the reader to the first page. If you want to link to a particular page and even a particular post then open the thread at the right page, scroll down the page so that the target post is in the centre of your screen, THEN click on the url and you will see the notation indicated page number and post number. Posting this entire url will take a reader to the exact page and put a specific post in the centre of their screen.
It’s a useful tip when dealing with some of the more scurrilous dishonest types here.

Hmm … I need to work on it.

@drewnogal saidYou can only use the site html coding [threadid] … [/threadid] for the thread number. To include a specific page and post you have to copy paste the entire url on its own.

@fmf saidI used to work with a woman who could get away with saying the most outrageous thing at the seemingly most inappropriate moment and get away with it, making others smile every time.
Some people are lacking in the sense of humour department. It needs saying sometimes.
I told her she was in the wrong job and that she should be on the stage.
@drewnogal saidYes on an iPad also.
Not for a little iPad screen perhaps?
I use an iPad all the time.
I recall reading this a while back. It stated that humor incorporates sarcasm, irony, satire, and timing—these are the four fundamental components that constitute humor.
"Why did the square get kicked out of the art class? It kept drawing itself as a perfect rectangle, which, according to the teacher, was "the height of creativity" – but only if you're trying to fit into a standard frame without any personal flair!"
@pettytalk saidPossibly in terms of objective construct, although a psychologist might have a different perspective when considering the subjective experience of humour.

This too was something I encountered a while back. It was stated that it combined the basic elements of humor. However, I fail to see it, although others may have a keener eye for humor.
"Why did the humorless man start a support group for those without a sense of humor? Because he realized that if he couldn't make anyone else laugh, he needed to find a community where he wouldn't feel so alone in his inability to crack a smile. He thought it would be a great opportunity to share his unique brand of humor, which, ironically, left everyone else feeling like they were in a room full of mirrors – reflecting back his own lack of mirth!"
