I loathe Mexico with a passion(arguably not part of the 'real' South America). Once you get outside the hotel district, which is, in itself, full of human turdage, the place is a garbage dump mixed with strips of jungle. Some of the best buildings they have are still the ones built by the Spainards. I've seen these idiots building a house out of loosely assembled cinderblock and sticks. Come one, you have the manpower, put it to use. I've seen my daughter build better houses out of cardboard. The Mexicans will, forever, be in their own way, their own worst enemies, hampered by the burden of a lackluster history and a prevailing custom of failure. I'm convinced that there isn't more than a handful of Mexicans that could organize a jail break from a wet paper bag. This is probably a good thing as we have thousands of the little banditos housed across the US.

it was funny going up and down, down again and finally up again in south america seeing the differences in the speed in which they drive. argentina and chile where closest countries to europe and america in every respect (i wasn't in brazil) and drove the fastest, bolivia and peru which other than in the bigger cities where nothing like europe or america drove snail paced with paraguay, ecuador and colombia somewhere in the middle.

i don't want to say that speed when driving is equal to intellect but there is something connecting the mentality of a country with the speed that they drive for sure.

what way did they drive in mexico? to be fair i think your statement about the spanish buildings still being the best in the country would be true for most latin american countries. some of the catheridals where spectacular.
