It would be good if people chose their thread titles carefully, but at least most of them do most of the time. 🙂

How many times have you not met your own "minimal expectations of civility" in the last, say, six months?
{following the thread title}
...... I'd disable the "copy" and "paste" functions from all forums.
...... I'd separate the information forums (Announcements, Site Ideas, Help) from the entertainment forums.
...... I'd publish the usernames of forum-banned people somewhere on the site not directly in the forum area.

It's a good thing you're not "in control" here. How much would remain after gutting the site, removing everything you don't like?

Again, this is just removing forums others enjoy, just because you don't use them.
Choice is a good thing, not something to be afraid of, or denied to others.
Originally posted by SuzianneWhat's wrong with the idea? The two forums I mentioned are relatively moribund and the wider range of topics that would be raised here might breathe additional life into the General Forum. What would be your specific objection?

Originally posted by SuzianneThe choices would not be denied or reduced; they would still be here but in one place., Indeed, if it served to rekindle interest in 'Culture' and 'Sports' topics it could just as easily result in an increased choice of topics to talk about.
