Forget fast. How does fast happen? Starve? Pills? Not how you want to live. And that is the point. However you were eating/exercising is what got you to where you are and those two items have to change and change in a way that you can live with for years/rest of your life. You can find a way to drop 10 pounds in a month, but you will make yourself miserable (headaches, hunger) and when you finally get off the crash program, the weight will probably come back.

I weight 225# and I want to be 185#. I am going to try to do that in a one year period. How? Three main strategies:

1) Find a way to eat that I can lose weight, but still live with for the rest of my life. Read up on what foods are loaded with calories and especially fat and plan to reduce them in my diet. Add vegtables and reduce meat. Find different ways to prepare food (bake vs fried).

2) I have a gym membership that I just wasn't using. So far in 2009 I've been 5 times and that is a start. I try to go 3 times a week and walk 1-2 miles another 3 times a week.

3) For me each meal out is a chance to do it right and lose weight. I try to think about what I am eating each time I dine. I look at what I am ordering and where I can cut back in some small way. I try to avoid the great US SUPER size mentality.

It is not easy, but if nothing changes then neither will your weight. Best of luck in your effort.

I've found that a 24/7 Ex-Lax drip for about two weeks works wonders.

GRANNY.

Have yourself beaten in the belly with a pillow case full of grapefruit. This will curb your appetite considerably without any permanent damage. Your welcome.

Exercise and calorie intake is important. I know a friend of mine went to a dietitian. She put him in a 1500 calorie a day intake. He got a thread-mill and was doing 20 minutes on it every night, and the weight is coming off him. Might be worth a try for you, if you are serious.
