I don't know what to say except it's still wrong. There are many other things going on that also feel wrong but there isn't anything we can do about that in a forum. They mostly concern young people.

Be it a Woman or Man, they can't expect to go into a job new and make the same as a man or woman who has been doing the job for long period of time.....for example over 20 years! They should get more because of their experience and time on the job. The new person should get increments in their pay as the years go by and they do their job properly.

Jobs change so quickly now. You are only good at your job if you are needed there. I have had very competent colleagues who were not recognized the last 5-6 years of their employment, as the requirements changed and they did not quite qualify for the new job descriptions.

Have you found that promotions are often based on popularity and looks rather than the actual requirements to do the job?

Maybe on management level.

Sometimes Education is a factor but not always.
