Unlike some people, I think Jesus could take a joke. In fact, I'm sure He very much enjoyed hearing and telling jokes. In fact, I'm sure that He laughed uproariously, especially when a joke was told at His expense. Like this one:

The three wise men arrived to visit the child lying in the manger. One of the wise men was exceptionally tall and bumped his head on the low doorway as he entered the stable. "Jesus Christ!" he exclaimed. Joseph said, "Write that down, Mary; it's better than Clyde!"

Dunno about that. For us the world is still fine and dandy. I can only imagine Jesus's perspective seeing the lives of so many people being thrown away, without them even realising what they are doing. Kinda like the kid from the terminator. He knew what would happen in the future, so wasn't in too great a mood.

But yes, I believe we were created with a sense of humour, so I have little doubdt that God has doesn't have one too. But I see jokes about Jesus/God more along the lines of making a joke about the hair piece of the guy thats interviewing you for a new position.

stay well

Sorry, I should spend more time editing my posts. Well its 3am and just finished watching the Wings game.. so .. not a good excuse I know.

I actually do believe God to have a sense of humour, however I believe it to be impossible to be one that can laugh at the misfortune of others. Shall we call it a pure sense of humour. Much like the type when a child laughs at his parents playing "peekaboo", instead of a funny blind joke ect.

Disrespectfull is difficult to determine and a fine line. Clearly the poster of this forum and those sharing his view have no respect for Jesus, but that's to be expected as they don't even believe He exists. Difficult to respect or disrespect something you don't believe in. I would say they show little respect for Christians on this site, or just show considerable lack of insight. But I don't believe they are actually disrespecting Jesus/God. Personally , I don't make jokes about God or Jesus or Hell as snickering about someone else's pain, be it Hell, or torture I simply consider wrong. I also pretty much respect my own father, so perhaps my background would explain my view.

Be that as it may, I probably should reflect on my own humour as I know my humour can be offensive too at times. I think the important thing however is to learn from your mistakes.

I need sleep.. 😉 cheers

I'd love to know who recommeded this. If you are going to be insulting, atleast try and make it somewhat clever.

Yeesh! You Christians just came in and took this thread over, didn't you? 🙂 Just kidding; not here to make enemies 🙂
But you guys brought up an interesting issue. Aside from the fact that I spread bad jokes, should a person be judged according to what they find humorous? I mean, it's like Socrates trying to decipher between 'deed' and 'intent.' Those people aren't any less dead, but I certainly didn't kill them, you know?

In other words, If you read my joke and laughed at it, do you think that God would judge you for it?

Awe, come on! Dry up the tears, crybaby!

Shouldn't you all be jumping for joy over the fact that Christ was crucified? I mean, after all, didn't his death mean the fruition of prophecy and the redemption of the sins of all mankind? If you take "The Passion" to be anti-semitic (which I'm not saying it is), shouldn't you be embracing the Jews, thanking them for the fullfillment of prophecy? Or, if you dont' blame the Jews, don't you owe a debt of gratitude to the Romans for peircing the Son? Considering this, can you really be so insulted by my stupid remarks?

And, come on, how clever does one really need to be in reply to, "hey [sic] you guys! you [sic] thing [sic] puting [sic] nails through your body is funny? why [sic] dont [sic] you try it sometime and see if it is funny!?" Actually, I feel kind of bad about it now. It's like picking on the most mentally challenged kid in elementary school (you know pcaspian, the kind of kids you used to beat up and steal lunch money from?). It wasn't meant to be clever or insulting...just mocking.

Hey player420. I see you all had some bad rain down there eh? Sinkholes and roads washed out...I remember that well! I lived most of my life in Albuquerque. Used to live at 12905 Roma NE, near Chelwood and Lomas. Went to Kennedy Mid School and Manzano High. I live in WA state now. There are a few other players from or in the great state of NM: Ronster is from Alb., now living in Los Alamos (Lived two houses down from me on Roma when we were kids). Ncrosby is from Alb., now living here in WA with me. Let's see...Stryder is from Alb., now living in TX (boooooooo!!!!!). Lawnguy in Alb., TwistND in Alb., fuehrer in Alb. Hmmm, I think that's about it. Oh, Pharaoh too. That's a lot of Albuquerqueans on this site!

Don't think it was intended to be clever or funny...

Hehe, your post just emphasizes the intent behind your humour. Perhaps that's why I didn't find it funny. Sorry, just seen it countless times before in athiest sites. And perhaps refrain from insulting mentally challenged children.

PS : How many school yard bulllies you know that play chess 😉 Think I could have been taking the 'piss' out of myself ?

If you intended no offense, then why did you post such a ridiculous joke? Are you an Israeli Jew? If so, what if I made a stereotypical joke about the Jewish faith...?..it would not be in good taste, right? You need to understand that if not for millions of American Christians(and possibly Europeans as well) who believe that Jews are still God's chosen people and therefore donate lots of money in order to keep you and your countrymen free, Israel would cease to exist...think about that the next time you insult a Christian...or a follower of any other religion for that matter...you showed a lack of class mister....😲 🙄

There was a flood.
And as the water's rose like shite in a blocked toilet, little boats sailed around picking all the people up.
People standing on top of cars and people stuck up trees. One small boat passed a man, standing on the roof of a church. The water was up to his knees.
"Climb aboard sir." Said the captain of the little wooden boat.
"No thank you." replied the man on top of the church. "I believe in God. He'll save me."
The little wooden boat sailed away.

By the time a canoe of sorts stopped by, the water was up to the man's waist.
"Climb aboard sir, I'll save you." Said the captain of the canoe of sorts, smiling behind his big beard.
"No thank you sir," replied the man on top of the church with the water up to his waist: "I believe in God. He'll save me!"
And so the little canoe of sorts rowed away.

By the time a third ship sailed up to the man on top of the church, he had water up to his neck.
"Ahoy! Mate!" Shouted the captain, smoking a pipe, "Climb aboard, we'll get you to dry land."
"No thank you! I believe in God. He'll save me." Replied the man on top of the church with water up to his neck.
The third ship sailed away.

Later that day the man drowned and went up to heaven, for he was a religious man, no doubt.
After Peter let him in, the drowned man walked up to the unspecified God and said: "Hey. You. I believed in you. Why didn't you save me?"
The unspecified God smiled at the man: "I sent three ships to save you, what more do you bloody want?"
