Yes, absolutely. I didn't know much about that myself until I met an intersexed person. Quite likely I have met more than one without knowing it, though. It used to be seen as unacceptable, so intersexed children got "normalized" as much as possible by surgical and hormonal treatment, often already as babies (some were never told). Now surgical or hormonal t ...[text shortened]... r than identifying as intersexed, so unless you know them well, you'll never know about it.
