Can't take horror movies seriously enough to find them disturbing.

Genocide I do find disturbing.

The Killing Fields.
Hotel Rwanda
Schindler's List.

Audition was also disturbing, but not particularly good (as opposed to irreversible, which was disturbing but excellent).

What was the most disturbing film you ever saw?

For me? Probably "Kids", "Henry, Portrait of a Serial Killer", "Man Bites Dog", "Killing Zoe", "Happiness"...I'll need to think of a few more.
I have never seen it and I want to but I guess "Last House on the Left" is pretty disturbing. I guess the special effects are so bad that it actually looks like a GD snuff film.

Have you seen The Last King of Scotland? Terrific film, I thought.

Now we're getting somewhere.

The Killing Fields definitely IS disturbing! (and really good too)

On a smaller scale I found the movie Festen pretty disturbing (English title is "The Celebration"😉, that one is about sexual abuse in a family.

Very good movie. The problem I had with it is that they didn't make the protagonist very sympathetic at all.

Forest Whitaker was great in that too.

He should be, it got him an oscar!
I'll get the movie and see whether that was just or not! 😛
