@torunn saidLike many things in life...as we "mature". 😛 😀
It's downhill now, Stees, but it can still be fun. 🙂
@great-big-stees saidI notice my failing memory in everyday life as I have to double-check things sometimes, but it's mostly obvious in my chess games. 🙂

@torunn saidI wouldn't be overly concerned about it, it just means your getting older. If it becomes an issue for you consult your doctor, but then you already know this! 😉

@very-rusty saidSorry, Rusty, there is no game called "being an a--hole".
Earl,
You will have a lot more fun and you've established a pretty respectable rating for yourself, you aren't going to forget what you've learned up to date, providing you have no major medical issues, which I hope doesn't happen to you or anyone for that matter.
I am the one who should be doing the studying instead of playing in the forums, but at this stage of my life I just enjoy playing the game!

There is no "game". It's just you being you.
@ghost-of-a-duke saidI’m thinking that it’s time for me to permanently give up alcohol?
I'm not going to eat any fudge in 2021.
Having abstained from alcohol for 5 months I really enjoyed a few glasses of Shiraz on Christmas Eve but felt so unhealthy for the next few days with a gloomy mood, lethargy and slight headache.
@drewnogal saidMany people drink alcohol in order to combat gloomy moods and lethargy. Perhaps that is the answer.

@fmf saidSomeone should have told me that 50 years ago. I’d have had a much happier adolescence and would have achieved more at school.

I will try to issue fewer platitudes. Man, that's going to be so hard. 😳
