Good for them, they bring enjoyment into a lot of homes. I love Phoebe’s songwriting 😂

I read somewhere that Lisa Kudrow was first choice as Phoebe Buffay. I really like all of them, they are so true to their characters.

So did she die at home or in a hospice?

Do you know what hospice is?

She died at home in hospice care.

Edit: This must mean different things in the US and the UK.

Ok, in the UK a hospice is a place you go to die. They mainly deal with pain management.

In the US, hospice care is usually at home, for people who no longer wish to receive treatment, but still need daily care. Pres. Carter entered hospice care at home in May.

It's mainly for people who feel they should be allowed to die at home among family and friends, but who still need daily care. And yes, pain management is part of that.

It is unusual for people to die two days after entering hospice care. It seems too soon.

It's called palliative care in Australia and the word hospice is confined to the hospitals which use only palliative care (sedation and/or pain relief) rather than active medical tests and treatments intended to prolong life.

Same exact deal here, only here it is in the patient's home so they can feel more comfortable during their last days. Daily care needs are also looked after (someone to cook, someone to clean up, personal care also, because often these patients are very elderly). The rich can afford this themselves, but for others insurance may step in and provide these services. It turns out that the difference in wording is "hospice care" versus "hospice".
